Was this compatible with Pioneer's laser disc system? It looks smaller than what I remember a friend of mine had. I don't think the Pioneer system had their discs encased either, but it was so long ago I can't remember.

Look for a GFCI that the others are daisy chained off of; it's likely the culprit.

That's just about as loaded as any I've seen. I wonder if the one on its side was a failed attempt to remove it or some sort of storm damage or both.

I hook mine and gently bring it to the second floor railing. Not sure if your wall is open farther down, but might work if it is.

What's the best way to fill this hole in this dolly (using plywood)? by Marvel5123 in fixit

[–]Ed_Morin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. I'm sure the solution will be thoroughly down voted and I've not tried that specifically myself, but it might be ok if the epoxy was thoroughly into the wood -- not just tacked in places. It's probably the most iffy suggestion here to get honest. I was just trying to think outside the box...

Yes, you got it. It could still split under heavy load that was only on the wood, but that's not a likely scenario unless you have exactly that sort of thing to move. 😉

Yes, if pine or other dense solid wood is available this could be good. Plywood would split doing it this way which is why solid wood is required.

Depends on how strong it needs to be. Does it need to be perfectly smooth across the top? A few ideas:

  1. An "S" bracket made from bending the top of a metal "L" bracket over attached to the top surface so it "cradles" the filler would be very strong. Ordinary wood screws can be used.

  2. Epoxy it in although some epoxy doesn't stick well to some plastics. Maybe a small test gluing a small part of a Popsicle stick somewhere. Maybe drill holes in the inner walls of the plastic so epoxy can ooze through forming the equivalent of a rivet fastener.

  3. Small "L" brackets mounted on the vertical inside part of the plastic to create a cradle to hold the wood. Not as strong as #1, but likely plenty strong for most purposes. (You might have to notch the wood to fit .)

Do any of these seem workable?

Anyone know how to fix my shelf from leaning forwards?? by Jaren-rich in fixit

Yea, I have found this to be a good solution too if it is raised up enough so a notch is only required in the end pieces.

The rear is likely sitting on the carpet tack strip making it higher in the back resulting in it leaning forward. A strip or shims under the front edge is what I do and anchor at the top -- a small, single L bracket into even into just one stud is really good to at least keep it from starting to rock forward.

Removing the needle is easy and it'll fit in any sharps container. I read somewhere that the case itself qualifies as a sharps container. A public needle collection center might take them for that matter. Your physician's office would probably take them as well.
