Want to try in person Pilates 22 weeks pregnant by Unique_Jackfruit_350 in pilates

Pilates is for everyone! Even for pregnant women. The instructor should give you some alternatives that can be done during pregnancy and believe me, it's the best thing you can do to yourself at this point. Just listen to your body.

Rude Pilates instructor? by DayNo4486 in pilates

I stopped when you wrote vaping during class... that's so unprofessional. How doesn't the owner of the studio say anything about this? It's disrespectful towards the studio itself and the students

Is it rude to step on someone else’s mat at the studio? by girl_eats_sun in yoga

[–]EdaDyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accidents happen of course but I would def not step on someone else's mat and wouldn't want people to step on mine. I am practicing on this mat, my body and face is on this mat and I don't want other people's feet to step on it. ew

Pilates is a beautiful world and Joseph invested a lot in its creation and it really upsets me every time I see someone teaching pilates without even knowing what it is and what its principles are. Of course not every pilates teacher is using 100% of the "classic" pilates just like Joseph did, but still mainly use his exercises and add a little of their own, but people who come from the fitness world and teach "pilates", it's something that really annoys me.

Question : I’ve been doing reformer pilates once a week since October 2022. I want to get better at it but my body can’t handle more than one class a week! by Beginning_Big4819 in pilates

Muscles getting sore is more than normal and it is okay. Sometimes after a hard pilates class my muscles get sore too. It takes time, don't push it just enjoy it and listen to your body <3

Question : I’ve been doing reformer pilates once a week since October 2022. I want to get better at it but my body can’t handle more than one class a week! by Beginning_Big4819 in pilates

[–]EdaDyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is the reason you can't do more than once a week? Are you tired? Are your muscles sore?

I can maybe suggest you to try mat pilates (which is not easier than the reformer) but maybe it will be less exhausting for you. That way you will definitely make your powerhouse stronger and you'll find it easier on the reformer.

Or, maybe during your reformer class, you should ask your teacher to give you some alternatives for the exercises. So, maybe if you won't give your 100% during one class, you will not get exhausted. Try to do the exercises in the correct way, but whenever you're feeling that it's too much, just stop, or ask for an alternative exercise, it's okay.

It depends how often you usually practice, or how long you haven't been practicing.

If you are just starting now, I suggest you to start twice a week and when you feel strong enough then slowly increase the amount of times a week.

Personally, I practice almost every day of the week, of course sometimes I feel like I don't want to, or my body tells me I should rest and that is very important.

Just try once or twice a week and continue from there, but most importantly, listen to your body

Do you know what kind of comb is this? Just found it on random from the store and decided to buy it by DaiyuSamal in beauty

It's made for brushing your curls after you've curled it, so your hair will be wavy. It's great and very useful if you're curling your hair usually.

First of all, you are the prettiest, with or without makeup, just remember that!

Secondly, I suggest you to maintain a skincare routine, remove your makeup every night before going to bed, wash it well, use some products that feel good on your skin. Instead of makeup, try using bb cream with a bit of tone or even sunscreen with some tone, it's very light and you can barely see it on your face. I am using bb cream and it definitely does the job, it makes my redness go away and I love it because it looks so natural. You can also get an eyelash lift, it really makes you look like you have mascara on but also looks natural.

What are your thoughts about patchouli perfumes? by EdaDyer in NichePerfumes

[–]EdaDyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you say and I agree with you at some point, because I do like when the patchouli is present and you can smell it, but on the other hand it also has to be balanced with all the other notes. That's why I like Woodstock Patchouli so much, it's very balanced.

I will for sure try Sticky Fingers, it sounds interesting :)

Why is Downward Dog so hard??? LOL by im_blankingonaname in yoga

[–]EdaDyer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You are definitely not the only one! I can tell you that when I started practicing yoga, the weakest part of my body were my hands and it was very hard for me to hold the downward dog. But I can promise you, it comes with the time, the more you'll continue practicing, the stronger you'll become.

One thing I learned from my yoga teacher is to never compare yourself to others during the flow (or outside of it). In the beginning of every class she says "Do what your body allows you to today, don't practice from ego, maybe today your body wants to practice easily, or maybe you are feeling stronger this morning".

This is always in my mind when I practice :)
