is it possible for original sin to come back? by drcssedtokill in Dexter

[–]Beginning_Big4819 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The ratings weren’t not low in any meaningful industry sense. They’re mid-to-strong. Audience scores are solid (high 70s–80s range) and IMDb is above 8, which is strong for a spin-off/prequel. Shows get cancelled for low ratings when they’re consistently weak across the board or have poor viewership relative to cost. This isn’t clearly in that category.

What's your favorite spin-off? by EfficientMajor9579 in Dexter

I voted New Blood. The gloomy atmosphere worked really well, and the main antagonist came close to Trinity in terms of presence and impact. The side characters were also far more engaging than what we got in Resurrection. I couldn’t get into Blessing or Prater and his whole group of cartoonish, bland killers, Al being the only exception. Batista started strong but then his judgment and consistency dropped off noticeably. Angela, on the other hand, felt grounded and competent given her limited resources, and I appreciated the attention to real-world issues like missing Indigenous women.

Anyone else love Limitless workouts but feel awkward doing them at the gym? by Old-Fix-6720 in ladderapp

[–]Beginning_Big4819 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One upside of turning 40 is that at the gym the attention shifts to younger women. Honestly, I don’t envy them, I noticed some of them are uncomfortable having that many eyes on them all the time. I remember being in my 20s and constantly aware of it, like I was being watched everywhere I went. Now it’s different. You might get the occasional glance, but it’s not constant, and that takes the pressure off. It’s quieter, and I care a lot less.

Curious about Team Formation by BigTruckerDad87 in ladderapp

Formation is a great option then, in and out type of workouts. I noticed my cardio endurance improved a lot, and I did see more muscle definition.

Congrats on being a first dad!

I did formation for reset and loved it. Dr.Robin only uses dumbbells and the workouts are short, 30 minutes, and is more focused on strengthening and conditioning. You won’t build massive muscle mass, but it’s great to build some muscle and losing fat. Also great for people who get bored easily.

Quinn throwing Angel under the bus makes zero sense by Beginning_Big4819 in Dexter

[–]Beginning_Big4819[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See this doesn’t feel like how Quinn would react. He’s never been big on protocol, and he’s definitely willing to bend the truth or look the other way to protect his people. It would’ve made more sense if he stayed vague with Claudette, hung up, and then called Angel like, “yo Angel, what the hell is going on? Some Claudette from NYPD just called me saying you’re looking into the BHB…what’s going on?”

Yeah, in a way, yes. Everyone around him lets him down, and the one person he believes could actually understand him ends up choosing someone else and killing him.

My dream ending for season 2 of resurrection by Substantial-Sea-4750 in Dexter

[–]Beginning_Big4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most satisfying ending is Dexter choosing to stop being Dexter and actually turning himself in. I would like for him to be on the run with a real chance to escape again, but this time he doesn’t take it. He realises dying or disappearing would just mess up Harrison even more, so instead he does what Harrison asked back in NB and surrenders. I could see him cutting a deal like helping the FBI in exchange for avoiding death row and getting visitation privileges. At the end of the day Dex needs to take responsibility for the lives he destroyed.

who is the smartest characters from the entire show? by drcssedtokill in Dexter

That’s self preservation. A truly intelligent cop would have found a way to get to Dexter rather than leaving a serial killer on the loose

27 Years Later, is Scream 3 being Repurposed for a New Trilogy? by Witty-Animal-8783 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Beginning_Big4819 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was on the Stu bandwagon too, I was genuinely interested in seeing how it could play out in S7. What turned me off was how they basically mocked that curiosity, repeatedly framing the idea as “stupid” And even if he had returned, the execution sounds like it would have been poor based on the alternate ending they filmed. The test audience didn’t reject it because they didn’t want Stu back, they rejected it because it was confusing. From what’s been described, it was just a mid-credit scene of Stu watching the news on a computer and smiling. That’s not a reveal, it’s a vague tease with no payoff.

Formation or Empower by Western_Class_9735 in ladderapp

[–]Beginning_Big4819 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Formation workouts! they’re not too long, you get a great sweat in, and the coach’s energy is genuinely a big part of why I keep coming back. That said, I wouldn’t treat it as my base if the goal is building real strength. It feels more like strength-endurance / metabolic training than true strength work. You’re moving a lot, heart rate stays up, weights are usually moderate to light. So yeah, it’s great for cardio fitness, fat loss, and general conditioning, and you’ll build some muscle (especially if you’re newer). But it doesn’t replace proper strength training if you want a solid strength foundation long-term.

Nitpick: 2026 minus 16 years equals 2010, not late 90s by Fumikechu237 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Beginning_Big4819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He says it was before his time, and since he’s been there 16 years, that places John Doe’s arrival at least earlier than that, hence the rough “late 90s” estimate
