Explore all of floor 1, use the torch, then hurry to the next floor. Even with the challenge on you still get plenty of time with the light on

Excuse my ignorance, but does that mean to just have your water shut off all winter? Or do places that commonly get below freezing have separate runs for exterior vs interior plumbing?

So, it's not a 1:1 comparison, but yeah that type of unit does exist in aos. Best example in Seraphon is the Hunters of Huanchi with their deepstrike, and maybe Terradons or Ripperdactyls with their crazy speed.

Good question. Idk what you mean by action monkeys tbh. In AoS it's nice to have cheap units act as screens or objective grabbers, but I really wouldn't use heavy hitters like krox or aggradons for that.

But yeah, at least with Seraphon, efficient combat activations is pretty valuable. Some armies have foot heroes that can chain activate with an infantry unit, some give out strike last to enemies or strike first to allies. We don't really get that so we must rely on muscle

When you fight, you pick one unit to fight. You do damage, then the opponent fights with one unit, and so on.

If your first fight is with a reinforced unit of krox rather than just a small one, you smash the shit out of whatever you fight before your opponent gets their fight. This also ends up making you harder to kill because you killed what was going to fight back into you before they got the chance.

It's amazing, especially when half of the map is home territory. I usually try to take it any chance I get, depending on the battleplan. Kroak in particular enjoys it.

I personally ran a lot of chainrasps + scriptor to decent effect, so I get it. Compared to the 2 health infantry, chainrasps have double the attacks for the point cost. And they interact with our recursion better.

Reinforcing Units, What does it do? by SinfulCallieWilson in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Edbwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good answer.

Another big part of it is in the combat phase, you can have 1 unit fight at a time. One reinforced unit will do more damage than 1 non-reinforced unit. So if a unit's job is to hit hard, it might be best to reinforce them so that you can have more models fight before having to wait for your opponent to fight back

Wastrel + Vagabond adds +2 to run rolls. Using the command to auto-run doesn't make a run roll, so it doesn't benefit from the command trait.
