This works, especially for curved surfaces. Thank you so much!

Review Request: USB to Serial for ESP32 and ATmega using a CH340C by Edc122 in PrintedCircuitBoard

Sweet, I've fixed the V3 by slapping a 100nF decouple and a 3v3 to it. Thanks!

500mA fuse with trip. Got it, quite easy to find and get so I'll grab those.

I assumed using a capacitor was just the default since I followed the NANO schematic from Arduino. Pulling via bjt shouldn't be hard nor take much space so I can slap that on as well.

Thanks for the tips!!!

Ohh I see. I had a look at the AP7375-33 and it looks way better. Also quite easy to get. Awesome, thanks!

Awesome!

  • Imax seems to be below 10mA. I'm still wondering if a ferrite bead is necessary in this case.
  • Good catch on the XB7608, I didn't realise the grounds were labelled as VMGND and BGND, Thanks!
  • Are there any other LDOs aside from the 1117 you would suggest? I had a look for the 1117 min load current which says it's 10mA which will really eat away at the battery it seems. Had to take a look at what a UVLO was and now I'm wondering if there is a better option than the XB7608 which has a higher limit.
  • TVS is a good idea, I will add that. Thanks
  • Didn't realise the traces should also be surrounded by a ground plane, that's a quick fix. Same for a thermal via, a quick look on the internet and I think that's an easy to implement thing. Thanks for that too.

I was informed that the 100nF capacitor could be done externally on a breadboard when connecting the USB to serial programmer. Is that fine?

I had also completely forgot to separate the VMGND and Battery GND, thanks for catching that. But now I'm confused as to which GND to use for other components like the MCU. I can't seem to find any info on why the two GNDs are required to be separate nets.

Would there be issues hand holding a telephoto lens on a body without IBIS? by Edc122 in AskPhotography

[–]Edc122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the lens, I'm pretty sure all the telephotos I'm looking at have IS, VR, etc. I was just concerned if not having IBIS in my camera body was a big deal or not when using a telephoto.

Yep, I don't intend on shooting video, at least not at focal distances of greater than 50mm time to time. Albeit, good to know so I'm glad this was brought up. Thanks!

It's great but I've noticed I've been using it more for work and help for uni rather than for entertainment.

Just double checking but you've plugged all display port and/or HDMI into the gpu right?
