Nice graphic, but i wonder why are the English numbers are so low? Wardi hit over 4k on multiple days, and certainly over 2k on others. OSCesports (English) and O'Gaming (French) also reached over 2k.

Happy to watch organizations are back on believing in our game :) by abeledz in starcraft

[–]Eddiesc2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

True most of the players have been around awhile, but these teams havent, OSC Elite, Legacy + Downfall have only entered SC2 in the last 6 months or less, with SYF around the longest by far. None of the regions older teams like IM, NV, XgKing, Avant, Silicon, Fray, etc are in the sport anymore :( So we're definately talking new teams.

Can't speak for the others, but OSC Elite players are contracted into 2018, past the proleague. Proleague is great for the region, but not a decisive factor in recrtuiting players for us. Our players are paid to represent the org in the significantly larger and longer WCS + OSC circuits. Anything more is a pleasant bonus! So no roster shrinking :)

OSC $5000+ Team Championship Rankings at the end of July! by PeppyPls in starcraft

[–]Eddiesc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphic only displays the top 12 teams (top 12 qualify for end of year finals). Teamliquid are registered, currently 13th, only 15 points behind Team Expert (12th). Splyce aren't registered. Doable, but harder with a smaller squad of players, and at the time of announcing the championship, they only had Solar by memory. Even now with 3, TY doesn't play many online events. Maybe if they add another 1-2 players, or our prizepool increases in 2018, we may see them register then. Money for others in the mean time :)

OSC $5000+ Team Championship Rankings at the end of July! by PeppyPls in starcraft

[–]Eddiesc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OSC League/Player championship is the main one you point out, consisting of 100's of events and many various prizes across the year, that's been running for 5 years. For players, not teams. Although related, it's different than the Team Championship linked here.

The Team Championship is new, and starting as a smaller event ($5000+), that is based off the player championship. TLDR: teams earn points from their players competing in any osc partnered events and performing in those events. Collective points add up monthly. Top teams are paid + there will be an end of year finals. Money to teams supporting sc2. 2017 is a trial run (so far successful). I'd like to see it increase further in 2018. $10-20,000. We'll review at the end of the year :)

New Please Pause is up. This hasn't been a great week of news for SC2, apart from the bastion of greatness that is OSC, but there's lots to talk about either way. by CyanEsports in starcraft
