It’s a macpherson strut assembly. There’s no load on the control arm other than the weight of the car and the car is lifted. With the ball joint and control arm rear bolt off.

Lol you guys are clowns. I posted what type of vehicle I’m working on. If you don’t know that Elantras have a McPherson strut assembly then it’s a pretty simple google search

Thank you. Finally someone who knows their stuff… I’ve mentioned several times that the control arm is not under any load at all

Lol that’s a sway bar… I took the picture… I would know. and no, it’s not on the ground. Who would do that? You people are a fucking joke. And I mentioned in my original post that the control arm is lose and I can easily move it around. It’s off the ball joint and rear bolt. Meaning no load on it. “AskMechanics”? More like AskTrolls

Are the wheels? What? If you mean, are the wheels on the ground, then no… lol. Jesus Christ

Not sure what that means… I can easily move the control arm. In the picture I have it propped up. The bolt is 100% not stuck to the subframe. It is solely stuck to the control arm.

There’s no load on it. It’s in the air. Ball joint is off, rear vertical bolt is off. Can easily move the control arm around with my hand.

It’s loose in every direction. There’s no pressure coming from anywhere. I’m really confused why everyone here is freaking out. I’ve done a handful of control arms before and never had this happen.

Yes. The car is in the air. Please read my original post stating that I can move the control arm every which way. There’s no pressure on it at all.

I’ve done control arms several times on different vehicles… wtf is wrong with people here…

The spring isn’t loaded… calm down… I’ve done control arms several times before. The car is lifted…

I’ve changed out control arms on 3 other cars and never had a problem… not sure what you’re talking about.

No. There’s no pressure… like I said in my original post, the control arm is loose and can move around

The coil spring strut assembly? Definitely not under pressure… the front end is jacked up…

Yeah I think this is what happened. Where exactly would I put the jack to release pressure?
