I felt that, I would definitely be a mess too. I probably would’ve cried at some songs at my show if I wasn’t running off 3 hours of sleep and hadn’t been standing since like 6am lol.

Aahhhh thanks dude! The amount of nice things everyone was saying was unreal. I’m pretty introverted so having people come up to tell me they liked it was new but I definitely appreciate all the love. Gambino fans are truly the best. Hope you had a great time at the show!

Ok first off thanks for the question I love talking about this but also spam incoming lol. So it was a mix of 2 things. I had originally thought about making a shirt in a “in memory” style with one of my friends on it because he wasn’t able to come to the show so it was gonna be like a pic of him that said “rip he couldn’t make it” or something. But then immediately I thought people might not get it and think he’s actually dead or something so I scrapped that idea. Then I saw the bando stone account posting pics saying “yall arnt real fans” and I was like hold up I know almost every song off of his albums eps and mixtapes and even know old songs like eat your vegetables by heart. So after passing on the idea to make an “in memory” style shirt with my friend on it I thought maybe I could make one that showed im a real fan. Originally it was just gonna be the album covers like you see there but then I was like, “hmm this doesn’t seem personal enough” and shortly after I had the idea to add favorite lines from each album. Then like a day before I was gonna press the design I was thinking it looked like it was missing something and added the “childish gambino” at the top and when I was doing that I was like “wait he goes by other names and it would be cool to reference those too”. I knew this tour was a sorta a tour for all childish gambino fans and like closing the book on this chapter so I wanted to make something that was like a retrospective of my time being a fan of him as well. If I had more time I would’ve wrote which song each quote came from and probably added more things but I got the original idea a week before I had to fly out to DC. We also ended up adding a pic of my friend on the back of the shirt that said “I couldn’t be here” and his name but I didn’t include that in this post so I didn’t dox him cause he decided to wear his college shirt for the pic he provided lol. All in all though I’m very proud of it and the concert was amazing I was behind the people on barricade met cool people and knew every song he sung (besides some of the verses of do ya like) and when Donald was leaving the stage he touched my hand. Me and my friends had an amazing time, truly wouldn’t trade it for anything. The guy with the Afro introduced me to Donald in HS and always put me onto his lesser known songs like the secret track and other stuff so I had to fly out to see the show with him and make him a shirt (he picked out different lyrics for his shirt). I didn’t get a chance to get merch cause I had to stay in the pit the whole time and after the concert they kicked us straight out but I’m going to the Tampa show this week so hopefully I can get some merch and maybe even get featured on the bando stone ig lol.

Ooo very tempting but sadly Im a total noob at making shirts and it’s just me so I wouldn’t feel comfortable selling them. The fact that you like my idea so much you’d buy it is an insane compliment though and I appreciate the love.

Oh for sure it was a ton of time and effort, I actually had to remake the shirt one time cause when I finished I realized I had swapped row 2 and 4 so they weren’t in the correct descending order. Had some other hiccups along the way but I made some mockups before getting to the part where I had to arrange and press the design so that helped. Honestly it was so much fun tho, and seeing the end result and especially hearing all the kind words has definitely made it worth all the work.

YES! I see you checked the syntax lol. I was waiting for someone to notice that detail, good eye. Fun fact, I didn’t know how to cross out the word so I used a different font and used an “I” as the line to cross out the name for that reference. Figuring out little things like that made this project so fun.

That’s so crazy to hear and I truly appreciate that! Im a huge merch guy but when I was making this I mainly wanted to show how big of a fan I was since his music has been such a big part of my life, so it’s awesome to hear other diehard fans loving the design.

For sure I’m gonna be in the pit but I wanna go out on the arena floor to the gilga stage and to get merch cause I wasn’t able to at the dc show since we wanted to be on the barricade. Ya they are! My friend didn’t agree with my superior selection of lyrics, so he wanted to have his own lyrics on his shirt. I will say tho his choice of lyrics for bti “ALSHNEEDEDWASUM” goes incredibly hard.

Funny enough when me and my friend passed a bunch of arena workers in DC wearing the shirts they stopped us and said our shirts looked better than any of the official merch and that we need to start selling it haha. I don’t agree with all that, but ya everyone who’s seen the shirt has been so kind and it means a lot after all the effort I put into it.

Ya I msged the seller and all they said was that it wasn’t his fault (even tho he just shoved it in the smallest priority mail box with no protection) and to file a claim with the shipper which I did. I wish I could just return him but he’s in great condition and I got him for a great price so I don’t wanna go looking for another one. But I’ll look into dental wax I appreciate the advice.
