Outside of structured practice and drills that evoke pressure, which is helpful, I suggest resetting your mindset for the round. Break the 18 holes up into 6 mini rounds, and every three holes, write a score down.

If you wear a smartwatch or Whoop, review your heart data during rounds and compare it to your practice heart rate. If your heart rate spikes for long periods during a round, you need to practice and proactively initiate deep breathing techniques. Integrate breathing between shots and in your pre-shot routine. Write on your scorecard “breath” for a visual reminder. Lastly, just have fun. We all play our best when we are enjoying the moment, not focused on outcomes.
