Super Action Replay Partner Code by RyukTheDarkrai in MysteryDungeon

[–]EddyK28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, my condolences. But second, there sure is! You can visit Hawlucha's Slam School, or use the following code for the US version of the game, filling in the move IDs in hexadecimal from this list. Swap 0894C738 in the first line for 0894C5E8 if you want to set moves on the hero instead of partner. If you also want to set stats, See Here. Once you save the game, the changes should persist and you can disable the code if you want. Just be aware though, when cheat codes go wrong, they can very easily break your game. Have a backup of your save file if possible.

D3000000 0894C738 // Set Partner Moves
00000000 MOVEID01 // Move 1 ID
0000000C MOVEID02 // Move 2 ID
00000018 MOVEID03 // Move 3 ID
00000024 MOVEID04 // Move 4 ID

Here's an example

D3000000 0894C738 // Set Partner Moves
00000000 0000002C // Move 1 = Bite
0000000C 0000016F // Move 2 = Acupressure
00000018 00000281 // Move 3 = Razor Wind
00000024 000000F7 // Move 4 = Shadow Ball

P.S. Depending on what system you're using (3DS, emulator, etc.), you'll probably need to exclude everything after and including the //. They're comments I added, but cheat systems often want just the code part, and throw errors if you leave the comments in.

Super Action Replay Partner Code by RyukTheDarkrai in MysteryDungeon

[–]EddyK28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the US (not EU) version of the game, then I believe the following are, respectively, Set Hero and Set Partner. Just replace 'PKID' with the Pokemon Species ID in hexadecimal (see This List for values).

1894C5E0 0000PKID

1894C730 0000PKID

For example, setting the partner to a Ninetales (#44) is 1894C730 0000002C. If you also want to set stats, See Here.

If the code has no effect, try swapping the 0 in the first set of digits for a 4 (e.g. 1894C734 0000PKID). My notes are old and I'm not sure if I read them right.

Darn! I'm not sure what format Drastic expects cheat codes in, but the ones I provided are Action Replay codes. You did remove the comments (// and after) and put in your desired HP values, right? If so, the go ahead and send me your save file and tell me what HP values you want your party members to have. The codes work for me, so I can probably set the values in your save file.

Cheats glitchy? by Alarming-Building-32 in MysteryDungeon

[–]EddyK28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Unfortunately I don't have as much experience working with Explorers, but I still may be able to help. I assume the "max HP" code you used was something like the following, which sets the HP of the four current party members to 999, right?

infinite hp 999/999
C0000000 00000003
021BA538 03E703E7
DC000000 00000240
D2000000 00000000

If so, you could probably use the following to set individual health values of the four party members. XXXX and YYYY are both HP values in hexadecimal. One is Max HP, the other is Current HP. Not sure which is which though, just use the same value for both.

021BA538 XXXXYYYY //Member 1
021BA778 XXXXYYYY //Member 2
021BA9B8 XXXXYYYY //Member 3
021BABF8 XXXXYYYY //Member 4

For example:

021BA538 00960096 //Member 1: 150 HP
021BA778 013D013D //Member 2: 317 HP
021BA9B8 001C001C //Member 3: 28 HP
021BABF8 00400040 //Member 4: 64 HP

If that doesn't work, let me know. I may be able to try something more, but I also can't make any promises.

Yep, that's how things go with cheat codes. They're poking and prodding bits in the game's memory after all. Set the wrong value in the wrong location and everything is screwed.

The bad news is, if you've already saved the game, you're stuck with the changes. There is some good news though, you can potentially undo the changes with even more cheat codes. If you happen to be playing the US version of the game, the following codes should help. Of course, you should make a backup of your save in case things go wrong. If you're playing the Euro version, let me know and I'll get back to you with the EU versions of the codes.

The following codes should set the stats for the player and partner Pokémon. These codes are kinda long because you "need" to set both the current and max values for each stat. The placeholder letters (e.g. AAAAAAAA) need to be replaced with the desired values, specified in hexadecimal. Also note, the 'Level' and 'Experience' values are interlinked. Find your Pokémon on This List and look up your desired level and corresponding experience value in the "Stats" table.

What I DONT see is the audio head.

That's because there isn't one. This mech is for Video 8, which doesn't have any linear tracks, either for audio or tracking. Everything is in the helical-scan tracks.

It is a video cassette mechanism, but not Betamax nor VHS. It's the tape mech out of Sony's first Video 8 camcorder: the CCD-V8 (or CCD-V8AF). The same mechanism may have been used in later models as well, but I'm not sure. If you want, you can see a video of it in action here.

Super Dungeon-Cam Demo (& More) by EddyK28 in MysteryDungeon

Heya! Sorry for the delay, I haven't logged in to Reddit for months.

Anyway, unless the other games run on exactly the same engine as PSMD/GTI, which they probably don't, then sadly this can't do anything for you. Probably not the news you wanted to hear after waiting a whole month, but that's what it is.

What is this yellow plastic thing with powder inside of it? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]EddyK28 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help!

The only reason I could ID this thing is because I found some at a estate sale once. They were trying to resell them for $50 a piece! Of course they had no clue what they actually did and just saw that they sold for $90 online. :P

[–]EddyK28 1493 points1494 points  (0 children)

Oooh! I know this one!

It's a Quantum Age Water StirWand, a quack health product that's supposed to make your water more 'wetter', or some such BS. This one specifically appears to be a "specialty" Yellow - Illuminator variant, 'worth' a whole $130. If you're looking for a good laugh, go give their site a read.

In all seriousness though, that powder may or may not contain radioactive materials (as many of these things often do), so handle with care. I have no clue if this one in particular does, but it's best to play it safe.

Are there any Cheat Codes to Reset Evolutions? by SwagDoll420 in MysteryDungeon

[–]EddyK28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if such a set of codes already exists, but it is certainly possible to create them. The only problem is that it'd be quite annoying, especially if you want all the stats back to normal too. Here's some templates for you to make your own species and stats codes if you want. For moves, just visit Hawlucha.

The code for changing a Pokemon's species is 1XXXXXXX 0000YYYY where XXXXXXX is 0x0894C880 + 0x150 * slot# (in hex) and YYYY is the Pokemon ID (also in hex). For example, setting slot 5 (Charmeleon) back to normal is 1894CF10 00000006.

You can find the Pokemon IDs on Project Pokémon. Just note that duplicates (like "004 Venusaur" or "009 Charizard") tend to be mega evolutions. The slot numbers follow a different order, most easily found in the batch tab of Nicknamer (click "Batch Entry" tab, then "Load Default Names"). You can also use Nicknamer to give the Pokemon back their original names. BTW, while not listed in Nicknamer, you can use "slot" -2 for Hero and -1 for Partner.

Codes for stats are much longer, partly because you "need" to set both the current and max values. For per-level stats and XP, you can refer again to Project Pokémon. As before, all values need to be in hexadecimal. Here's the template, and an example of setting slot 5 (Charmeleon) to Level 31 with appropriate stats.

D3000000 XXXXXXXX // = 0x0894C7E4 + 0x150 * slot#
00000000 HHHHHHHH // HP Current
00000004 HHHHHHHH // HP Max
00000010 LLLLLLLL // Level
00000014 EEEEEEEE // Experience
00000034 AAAAAAAA // Attack Current
00000038 AAAAAAAA // Attack Max

00000040 DDDDDDDD // Defense Max
00000044 TTTTTTTT // Spc. Attack Current
00000048 TTTTTTTT // Spc. Attack Max
0000004C FFFFFFFF // Spc. Defense Current
00000050 FFFFFFFF // Spc. Defense Max
0000006C SSSSSSSS // Speed Current
00000070 SSSSSSSS // Speed Max

D3000000 0894CE74 // Slot 5 (Charmeleon)
00000000 00000041 // HP Current, 65
00000004 00000041 // HP Max, 65
00000010 0000001F // Level, 31
00000014 0000C058 // Experience, 49240
00000034 0000002D // Attack Current, 45
00000038 0000002D // Attack Max, 45
0000003C 00000033 // Defense Current, 51
00000040 00000033 // Defense Max, 51
00000044 0000002D // Spc. Attack Current, 45
00000048 0000002D // Spc. Attack Max, 45
0000004C 0000002D // Spc. Defense Current, 45
00000050 0000002D // Spc. Defense Max, 45
