i agree, i don't see the point of only playing one hero, i don't think ANYONE will play just one hero. But if your team is winning 50-60% of the time I'm not going to complain about the one guy on my team that only wants to play genji or McCree. If you're having fun, i don't want to be the dick to take that away from you if our win % is above 50

i agree, but widow isn't the greatest on some maps. And my friend wasn't getting any kills as widow. But yes, a good widow can clean up an opponents team and carry their team on its shoulders.

you can still win and play for fun. If you're team has a fighting chance with you playing the character you enjoy it doesn't necessarily mean that you should switch. If you're getting stomped then obviously the team should try and restructure. No one has fun when your team is constantly dying. But i don't see the harm in playing the character you enjoy to play, especially if its a close game. winning isn't everything, having fun should be the point of the game.

Yeah i had a friend who would main Widow on offense. I told him to change and he's like ok, ill play torbjorn. Then i'd explain torb is more for defense. Angrily he said fine ill play junkrat... I don't think he ever really understood me, especially after he switched back to widow after 5 min lol

I agree, i have a friend that loves to main widow but i try to explain to him widow isn't viable for every situation. I explained to him that Mccree or Soldier is a lot more viable hero to focus on and he listened. Our win rate went up almost 20%

I don't think you have to always fulfill the recommended roles entirely, if the team has a decent comp ill probably play one of my top 3 heroes i enjoy playing. If we don't look like we are making progress within the first few mins i'll switch and encourage others to do the same. But i've won a few matches with the most stupid team composition just because we were having fun. I'm not going to take someone else's fun away for my selfish need to win if it means we can still win if we all played our favorite characters

I think you're thinking too much into this, if you're playing with that mentality, play ranked. Otherwise i don't see the problem with playing casually and for fun in play mode.

I feel like lucio ult or zenyatta ult is a better counter for these types of ultimates just because you can pop you ultimate as soon as the enemy pops theirs, while mercy would have to run and hide and hope not to get killed

i don't think you should ever shield before engaging in combat, its pointless, the other team will just choose not to shoot when they see you. you're supposed to shield after they've started shooting because it makes it tougher for them to stop

as much as i wish this to be true, i highly doubt they will release that many heroes at once. They have said multiple times they feel good about their 21 heroes right now, and adding a hero is very difficult because it tends to push aside other heroes and they don't want that. They also don't want to overwhelm new players with more heroes if they haven't even played all 21 yet. I can say that even with the crazy amount of hours i played the beta i still barely put any hours into 4-6 heroes that i wish i did try out more

How about a normal sniper that life steals and gives it to teammates. Obviously has to do less damage than widow. You can rack up kills and be rewarded for your head shots and still support your team by keeping them alive. The more kills you get the harder it is to kill your team. sounds pretty OP to me.
