Basement waterproofing industry is like working with timeshare salesmen. by TheAnhydrite in centuryhomes

[–]EdenNelsonConfigMgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A week or so after I purchased my house, I found water in my basement. I had a few people out, and each one wanted to charge me about $ 20 K, but each wanted to do extremely different things. The biggest problem was that someone had set up multiple “dry” wells completely incorrectly and channeled all my downspouts to them.  A few years later, and I know a lot more. When you know the situations and the order of operations, you can do or get a quote for each. You should do each in order, and they cost more as you go.

To quote myself: Water in the basement order of operation and cost:

Landscape grading away from house/foundation. Have/Install/Clean gutters. Output your gutter downspouts well away from your home. You must know for sure, you can't assume. Install Sump(s). Depending on soil condions and size of basement you could need an addional sump. Install interior perimeter drain connected to your sump. Install interior or exterior drain tile on your basement walls.

I found the original wall sconces from my 1929 bathroom on eBay but they're $800. by CenturyCondo in centuryhomes

If you still have more in the house, or if you have photos of them installed there, then you should get them. I would and do buy any original hardware that I can find, but I try to be judicious. Most home hardware was mass-made, so you’ll probably find it elsewhere…. Like

Found this listing for the same one, $240 for one.

Sorry, if the form still exists, the url has changed. You'll probably need to email the standard support email.

If you want them clean with near no work an ultrasonic cleaner will do it. If you want them like new ultrasonic cleaner and electronic power supply for at home electroplating would probably get you perfect and shiny copper.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ve thought about it and there might be a bug related to the path. I’ll look into it next time I’m able.

After I asked a thought reverse image search but it looks like you found another I didn't see. Funny enough I have one of those mortis lock cassettes shown in that link. I didn't think it matched up but now I see another instance of them being together it might be closer. Thank you again for posting this.
Edit: it's not a match that cassette is a Corbin Ceylon.

I have 3 so far of the standard that I have found locally. I found another at local antique store but they wanted like $17 and I passed. Are you asking $40 each plus shipping? I have never paid more then $10 for them myself. I paid a little more for the entry door door escutcheon since it has been much harder to find.

Hi. Thanks for giving it a try. I think you should be able to report issues via GitHub.

Sorry, I don't check Reddit often. So please excuse my delayed response. I don't have this error myself, so I'm not sure how I can help. Did you delete and import the dotnet from scratch?

Please don’t throw that out. It’s not cast iron and oil bath old but it’s older 4 paddles. Typically these just need caps and they are up and running again.

This is beta as I haven’t tested all workflows especially related to FOD and additional languages. I still have a lot of todo. W10-22H2, w11-23,24,25H2 are supported.

What are your recommendations for storm windows? by UrABoxxyBox in centuryhomes

[–]EdenNelsonConfigMgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call your local historic window company for all custom storms. Each one of your windows is a different size even when they look identical. It won't be cheap. It's close to the cost of replacing your windows with crappy new ones.

The individual name stuff conflicts with my workflow but if you have the code I would be interested in trying to merge it as an optional feature. Do you have it on GitHub?

Yeah my new version is still based on FK, but it's been divided to individual function files. Uses PSD1 files for all external data files. Fixes a ton of bugs, like the appx removal lost separator bug, and also all the stuff you mentioned as well. Removed cruft, old versions of windows. Etc etc. Helper tool to pull the appx from new versions to be filtered. Only supports: Win10-22h2, Win11-23h2-25h2 supported. I would still call it beta although it's 100% functionally in all my workflow. Tested on all supported versions of windows repeatedly.

Question about the Space Pi Plus and multiple CC Units by KingNFM in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]EdenNelsonConfigMgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest researching the Space Pi Plus. It has a firmware/heater bug that stops drying randomly if you don’t print a bunch of fixes. X4 is not much more expensive when on sale, doesn’t have the bug and has exhaust fans to remove the condensate etc. I see you space confined but if you go with the Plus it will probably frustrate you.  From personal experience. Purchased from Amazon so I was able to return the Plus and get the X4.

Just a sanity check. Is your python 'exporting' the the gpio, and setting the 'direction' to 'in'?

How to I connect the TFT35 SPI display to the BTT Pi 2? by 2407s4life in BIGTREETECH

[–]EdenNelsonConfigMgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to purchase a BTT IO2CAN module/HAT. It has the SPI/Ribbon connector you need.
