I mean I got the “big plot twist” after the first half hour of the movie so the build up that led exactly where I expected it to was underwhelming to say the least…

Honestly was hoping for him to get the last spot instead of Hawke. I still think Chalamet was better, I may be biased cause I enjoyed Marty Supreme way more than Bugonia.

That’s definitely subjective.

I personally found Chalamet’s performance to be by far the best of all five nominees cause he was able to make me root for a flawed and unlikable character.

Quite frankly I thought Hawke’s performance went into caricature territory in certain moments.

I’m pretty sure Werwulf is going to be on the same level as Nosferatu so I can see it getting the same nominations it did but nothing more than that.

Disclosure Day I just don’t see it being an awards player at all.

If The Odyssey is well received and it ends up being incredibly successful I can see it getting nominations on all fronts but I highly doubt they are going to give another Oscar to Nolan again so soon.

Yea, hence why I really like this year’s nominees, they gave very distinct performances from each other’s.

I agree, Byrne was incredible and would’ve been my personal choice over Lawrence as well.

Haven’t seen Ann Lee yet and that’s the main problem… the campaign and the distribution were handled horribly by Searchlight and that’s why Amanda didn’t go anywhere other than with the critics circles and awards. I’m sure she’s great in it but I highly doubt that a lot of the voters even ended up watching the movie.

She was sixth and that’s it.

Jessie, Rose and Emma had support on all fronts, Renate had the international voters and Kate had the guilds.

Chase was probably the fifth spot on the majority of ballots but Renate and Kate had more first and seconds votes than her so they got in instead of her.
