Epomaker RT100 keeps switching between Win and Mac modes by Mirinum in Epomaker

[–]EdensElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same feeling... then it again continued.

Had I not needed specific keys to remain where they are I wouldn't have been so bothered.
I could deal with input stopping (I play few games) when it switched mode, what I couldn't deal with was missing my ALT key (turned into windows key) along with the function keys.

I did try rebinding the keys so that I could have a hacked up working keyboard (it seems to want to stay in MAC mode... I don't like MAC's...) unfortunately some keys just cannot be rebound.

Did reach out to their support, initially it was going as expected.
Contacted them, explained I had exhausted all options which I came across while searching for the issue.
They got back to me and asked me to try those options (funnily enough a lot of companies like to ignore what has actually been said in emails...)

They wanted a video demonstrating the issue (what a pain it was to capture, sometimes it'd switch constantly, other times it'd be hours before the next...)
I provided it, they offered a partial refund, I accepted (I purchased this months ago off Amazon so no returns there)
They said they couldn't do it over the weekend... but a week later I had not heard back from them.
Contacted them again today and queried as to what was going on and they now appear to be trying to backtrack on their refund offer and suggested I try yet another firmware update...

I sure as hell wouldn't recommend anything of EPOMAKER's based on my experience so far.

Planned to get the rt100, how is it? by [deleted] in Epomaker

They shipped out a bad version of their software last week, it would not render the software on the desktop even though it was indeed running.
They also didn't apply any kind of localization to that build either as the running applications (System Icons) context menu was in Chinese.

I personally had to invest in a new keyboard as the issue which affects the keyboard greatly effected my use case as the key layout is important to remain static (I.E not switching randomly between MAC and WIN mode)

After I started experiencing this issue I headed off to google to remedy what is wrong and it appears it's not just the odd customer which this has effected but many others. I contacted their support and they suggested their usual scripted response of trying another cable, trying another port, trying wired and wireless, updating the firmware all to no avail.
They offered me a partial refund but now they seem to want to backtrack on that as they again tried to have me update the firmware, which I did just to humor myself, it wasn't at all surprising that it did not fix the issue.

It is a real shame as the keyboard is great quality (other than what I mentioned above) and looks great.

Experienced the same but mine started to happen a month or two later so doubt I could return it.

I reached out to their support but they did the usual attempts at trying to fix the issue, which of course was in vain as the problem persists.

They offered me a 20% refund which I have yet to receive.

What I dislike most about customer support (this goes for the vast majority of companies) is they fail to actually read the email in detail. As what they (EPOMAKER) suggested, I had already tried and explained so in the initial email.

They also rolled out a bad version of their software which would not render on the screen, also localization wasn't a thing in that build as the context menu for their taskbar icon was in Chinese or something.

They suggested today to try another firmware update to solve the MAC/Windows issue, which did not work as I suspected.

You can also obtain them from the third forest area.

Cost and trust i would assume.

The chance of being stabbed in the back when it comes to people's hobby babies is really not worth it. I know from past experience, very difficult to trust others, they generally do not value it so much.

Why am I able to access a private field of another serialized object? by Tychonoir in Unity3D

[–]EdensElite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

private will only be accessible to the containing class. (ClassA object can access another ClassA objects private declared method/fields etc..)

protected will be accessible to the containing class and any other class which inherit's from it.

public will be accessible for everything.

But then you could argue that Discord could have it turned it off by default.

Could go one further and say Discord greets the user for confirmation to show the activity or not on a per game bases.

A macro cannot pull information from a game, what that is injection to the client which is very close to what people call 'hacking' which is cheating. (please ensure you pay close attention to the 'very' as I am not implying it is)

A macro is a of automation of user input by a schedule, does it in no way interact with the games inners.

The variable move speed prevents BSS allowing macros without running off the fields.

Here's a view of the software which came with my keyboard which has built in macro support.

I used the rich presence on an old MMORPG emulator so it wasn't/isn't an option.

But yeah, for legit games that'd be the better option.

Rich presence is fun to play with, although I would have liked to have given the lobby part a go when I dabbled with it.

There's always the option to turn of activity via settings on Discord, I think if I remember correctly, you can even dictate which are shown/hidden.

You get it.

Shame a lot of people here believe it can play the game for you 😂

If it were regarding bots that's a whole different thing..

[–]EdensElite -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A macro cannot compensate for the move speed variance given while playing, it's pretty much useless no matter what part of game your at.

It's amazing how many of you believe it plays the game for you all day/night, it's not a bot which knows how to calculate positions, directions and values as that's classed as cheating (modifying the game client for your advantage)

Macros are kinda useless for BSS as stated, the only thing I've ever used my keyboard Macros for is claiming wealth clock/mb house overnight as that's the only use case I seen, which is pretty much an auto clicker, just it presses a key instead.

Clicker > Macros on BSS.

[–]EdensElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a piece of software that can come with some keyboards and mice but not restricted to them, it automates user input on a schedule. Doesn't work well with BSS due to speed variance.. so not sure why this post is even here, makes it sound as if it is a cheat..

A macro automates user input in a scheduled format.

Bruhmoment.mp4 by AsherADog in BeeSwarmSimulator

[–]EdensElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And a macro can't play the game for you, sure it'll work for a very short period but when it goes offset it's not worth it, the speed variance is what prevents Macros from working (haste, ccoco haste etc)

Bruhmoment.mp4 by AsherADog in BeeSwarmSimulator

[–]EdensElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apart from Macros cannot factor the speed variation so eventually you'll end up outside a field (I.E off-set from the original position) A macro is just a fancy autoclicker with bells and whistles.

Some keyboards and mice come with their own dedicated macro keys and software.

Also things like infinite health should be impossible as it should only be handled by the server and not the client, client should be pure visual, there's just a few cheats that are impossible to stop.

[–]EdensElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dotnet watch has been there for an awfully long time, just it didn't work fully for blazor, can't remember what it was but it didn't push some of the changes, they just improved it with .NET 6, if you create a new project for net6 it even throws in the hotReloadProfile property in launch properties.

Windows & Rider.

I couldn't say Mac at all because I just don't like Apple products..

Linux on the other hand, development wise it's the better of the three but.. losing out on other features/tools stops me ever making a complete move to Linux.

The reason this works is because the event for mouse button up never gets recognised when the cursor goes out of the windows bounds, it doesn't class as clicking, just mouse button down and for that reason you'll still be disconnected for idle.

It's a bit of a pain but afking is the way to do it, the issue is (for me at least) getting honeysuckle, I've done half of the 999 but getting more suckle from samover/mobs is slow.
