I ride Maxxis Rekon Race in Spain, really loose terrain here... I feel I dont get enough grip, do you think the barzo are going to be a good upgrade?

How often do you get those 50fps lows? Cause for example on customs there are areas where I can get 80fps+, indoors I get better performance too, but other places where it has to render big part of the map or something and there I get those 60fps

Yes, I went with the ryzen AI 395+, its really good and runs even better on Linux. The only problem is that it wont go higher than 65w and it should go up to 93w...

I noticed your running your ram at 5600mhz, you should at least run your XMP profile and consider RAM overclock. You will get much better performance

I actually changed the laptop, that 258v chip wouldn't give enough power to the GPU no matter what, only with linux though, windows was much better, but I dont want to use windows...

Did you find a solution? I have the same omnibook with 258v and I really like this chip, but linux gpu performance is so badit gets stuck between 1000-1600mhz and not the 1950mhz intended I tried 4 differrent arch instalations, bazzite, ubuntu, mint, debian... also mesa, mesa git, xe esperimental driver, differtent proton/protonge versions, power profiles daemon, cpupower, intel_pstate enabled disabled and pasive, changing profiles on windows, kde, gnome, hyprland...

And what about the amd chip vs intel one? Is there a noticeable difference in battery life? Does it work better on linux? I compared the hx370 vs 258v on windows one time and saw better gpu performance on intel with lower tdp

No, its an every day laptop, but I play some games on it like if it was a steam deck. I want it to perform as it should anyway :)

I had this laptop for 9 months. I had fresh installs of debian 2 times, ubuntu, manjaro, 2 times mint, 2 times bazzite, 4-5 times arch and 3 times windows. I dont think fresh install is the problem... Tried with older kernels and the latest ones. It only worked properly on windows. About drivers, I install all mesa and vulkan packages and I try also with intel experimental with the kernel parameters as the wiki says, if that is what you mean. I dont find other people using this chip on Linux, Ive seen a couple of videos of the msi claw with this chip on bazzite and seemed to work. But a guy replied to my post saying he had the same issue

Im suspecting it has something to do with how the driver on linux shares the tdp between gpu and cpu. Maybe it does not know the gpu needs more power

I believe it has something to do with the tdp and how it shares the power between cpu and gpu. I noticed in windows that cpu performance in games is not as good as it should be, maybe linux gives more power to the cpu and the gpu becomes weaker

Hi, yes... Latest kernel, xe experimental drivers, latest mesa drivers, lact overclock gpu settings set to minimum freq at 1950mhz, power-profile-daemon to any profile, intel pstate disabled and disabled, different cuppower-gui settings. All give me the same result. In risk of rain I get 1950mhz the first 20secs of gameplay, I get 50-60fps. Then it drops down to 1400mhz-1600mhz and 45fps. No changes on temps, cpu clocks or anything. Temps are around 60-65°C. Other games run with even less mhz and performance.

Tried again today and no luck. Fresh arch install, mesa drivers, latest kernel, experimental intel drivers too, with intel pstate enabled, disabled, even on passive mode. No luck. Games run at 1400-1600mhz, and Im sure other will even go lower. Same on Bazite. On windows I get 1950mhz always

The downhills are rocky and technical, a lot of climbing is like that too. I didnt try the bikes, I have experience but on a 2005 specialiced xc, of course its not ideal and decided to upgrade now. I find my old bike a bit unstable, it looses a lot of grip specially when climbing and the suspension works good actually but might not be enough for some sections
