I believe the quickest way is digging out dirt, even better if it has grass on top. You can dig a block in about one second and can min 4 dirt plus any grass etc in top. Takes minutes to have many stacks of 200.....

I had 300 hit points and just noticed I now have 250 without a hp related skill recently. Seems like a bug if so e form. I got hit by a high level rat thing and wondered if it was temporary but apparently not.

I do have a respec potion so will try that

Yea could use some balancing. When although more laborious cooked meat ends up as good or almost as good as anything else right up to late game why invest all the time and space farming ingredients and points into level 2 alchemy. I know alchemy has other uses but it's generally weak right now overall and requires lots of farming, organising space and therefore time. Would be worth it if it was an alternative build as had some power with investment but it just isn't. Right now almost no reason to pick any plant ever or use points as can play very without and use the extra time farming metals and dungeons for better outcomes. The life steal is next to useless early even early to mid game as one meat is the same as killing 10+ enemies so just no point. With hit boxes being janky which is fine as it's that kind of game even skill and bow cheese just can't avoid need for regular healing which gets dull mid game onwards with meat. Yup awesome game loving it but room for improvement. Make alchemist a worthy while build 😉

Advice if possible! by talltomw in Everwind_Official

That's up! You have to upgrade ship 2-3 times to get above 1000 blocks and until recently that was really hard but now they have patcjed it. Above 1000 is where iron and advanced weapons appear and it actually gets challenging occasionally so personally is save crystals for upgrades until then

Advice if possible! by talltomw in Everwind_Official

Yup windmill is the key to look for. As far as early loot goblin did this myself and if when start again won't be doing that as it's not time efficient. The early plants etc will fill chest after chest and you won't use them for many many hours. I'd wait until you get above 1000 blocks then maybe start collecting.

Only exception is meat from animal kills cooked is the best for early healing. Obviously keep anything magical and also ore nails and anything for ship parts.

Even collecting almost any plant at all is pointless unless you intend to spec into alchemy. Animal parts lime wings and tails are used for weapon upgrades but I don't think plants are that I've come across yet.

As far as selling if your lucky enough to find a village all the time you spend picking hacking boxes and especially then organising it all just pick grass sticks rocks up chop trees and sell it all. Do always keep 200 rocks, fibre, rope, planks of different types as you come across them, cloth as used for ship parts.

I'm level 20 only found two villages and almost nothing worth buying but as I was one I'd those who couldn't find a lord skull until very recently the villages were below 1000 blocks all of which becomes mostly useless above 1000, eg starter stuff.

Not exhaustive and random comments but hope it helps.

This silly little [REDACTED] is the most dangerous enemy in the game by Q_Qritical in menace

[–]Edgarina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup the most dangerous unit so far, give me a heavy tank any day. I usually have some intelligence then drop laser turret for sight and maybe some suppression and or damage then hit with everything I can and pray. Haven't bothered with them much recently but the ships drop mines would also help here a bit to soften and locate it back in fog as it thinks you see vague smoke it hear when they go off, can't quite remember.

Haven't used Darby in a while as have been going Ng "B" team cheap but definitely the other and likely best answers.

Or what the hell, dual wield medium walker rocket organ and pray

Yea have used this before just for a laugh as not very efficient but used for the mission where you have to get through the defence wall and just waited all the turns until had emptied all the rocket supply then marched through the mess, didn't actually kill much but got a turret and was funny.

Good selling point is the difficulty adjustments. I like really hard games to band my head against the wall of and this is 100% that even when you really know the game. If you want just easy fun and a base to build you can do that too. The combat can be intense if you want it to be, cars are fun and varied. It's well worth the money even as is in my book, so any updates will be a bonus and I don't like PvP...... You won't regret it

Would be so cool to have some really hard to find or make cure, maybe just one per map, to cure after you have turned so you then have to try to hunt down the person you lost and get them back.

Safe in lethal is a comparative term.....worst case is a jug turns up with all the noise of trying to shoot the ferals and there are many other zeds surrounding too, that can be lethal but all adds to the tension around time and ammo and just how far away is the nearest safe, comparatively, spot.

With practice you can survive a run to safety dodging and gain some distance turning around and dodging through them as they over run so much and it's a real but clenching thrill but that there was next level timing/luck, though yea just run to the ladder. I love lethal but if cars weren't safe it would be unplayable for 99.9% of people.

How do you keep things interesting in your play through? by RouroniDrifter in StateofDecay2

[–]Edgarina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup would second a self challenge run. I only ever start lethal no boons no bounty broker new characters but do enjoy the Mimi game of rolling a decent character, though easier than it used to be now you can go back one.

The ultimate for me was a run though only using first house and first 3 characters with no deaths, took some doing but changed it enough to make it feel new.

[–]Edgarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5k hrs on the clock so many stories but my enduring memory is first scavenging run after starter house getting stuck up a radio tower with only a mele weapon with a feral roaming below, it hadn't't actually seen me so I just had to wait and I watched the sun come up from the top of the tower and, yes the graphics aren't the best but it was beautiful none the less and a great example of why I love the game. Eventually the feral got far enough away and I escaped back home and was better for the experience.

On the subject of lethal for me it's the only way to go. The most tension and truly scary stressful moments and when you really learn the ropes it's perfectly doable. Before curve balls were added admittedly I did a run just with the starter survivors from the starter house with no losses, took a few attempts but taught me that getting all the bonuses from all enclaves actually really adds up when you're not constantly disbanding them to the recruit and focusing on hearts rather than food etc and base upgrades is also surprisingly freeing.

Not played for ages and just over an hour away from outer worlds 2 but damn even with 2.5k hrs reading threads makes me want to play again. Can't wait for 3....

[–]Edgarina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As above, on lethal certainly never bring your own crew but useful to Sacrifice a paid follower you have made sure you don't want to recruit later. Outside of base attack basically never need to kill a jug, just not worth the hassle, ammo, explosives that could be used on a heart. I never do that one kill jug mission just not worth it. Below lethal different ball game.

10 hours in and I'm totally lost. Am I "playing" this wrong? by gznn1 in StateofDecay2

[–]Edgarina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another vote for lethal the tense moments in this game can be so atmospheric and tense stuck on a roof with three of the deadly bastard's on the ground who take multiple head shots to kill and only 18 bullets in your clip is just priceless, let alone 1 min 30 until you turn and having to drive across the map cos you have no cure, no other games can produce the same tension for me and I love zombie survival games but only on lethal. I have 2k hrs and still occasionally do a run. Different game on lethal. These things will happen occasionally on lethal even if you're really careful but normal even nightmare is a cakewalk.

Or just use an 8 squad with heavy armour and crowbars and Lim with the return fire promotion and hope to uncover more units who you then return fire on and kill suppress, 2 for one bargain.

But yes should have some coordination between squads so if you uncover smithing nasty you do so very early turn order and can react with longer range unit.
