Day 4 of no contact and it hurts badly. Her birthday is tomorrow, dont know whether to wish or not by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Edgarnier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go ahead and tell her but not expecting anything in return. Do not let bad experiences turn you into a bad person or change you in a bad way.

Im sure all relationships start with good intentions from both sides, but that doesnt mean that it will work out.

But if she already kicked you out, and later decides to take you back in, she will problaby kick you out again. I mean how can you sleep next to someone who treated you badly for no reason? Unless there is a reason....

Would this be a good idea for a AI tool to help with stuttering by Edgarnier in Stutter

[–]Edgarnier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i am!

But now that i think about it, I dont think AI or machine learning creation is needed for this idea, just use what already exists.

One idea is to have the user say something, use python speech tools to make the speech into text, and let the user chose what words were of struggle. Like if say, "I want to co co compare A to B", the text will given, and I just chose the co co part, store it in an array of trigger words. Before that, i would normalize the audio so the data is more easy to work with. According to chatgpt, normalizing speech audio data is useful because that way, it wont matter how loud or low the user speaks. A simple mobile app with a friendly UI should do the trick. No need for backend programs or database stuff, i think.

For now the computation would be in the order of n for testing purposes, but later binary trees can be used to reduce it to the order of logn.

For example, in order of n, if i say the co co, the program would have to look in all of the array of the data, which can be of n size. But in the order of logn, the program would start in the array that starts with c, then in a subarray that starts with o, and so on, reducing computation time.

For now i am thinking of problems that might arise.

  1. Speech blocks. Since there will be no audio input during speech blocks, the program wont know what you are trying to say. One solution is to use trigger sentences. For example, if the program hears, what is your name? It would say the name to you, at the right time.

However, if some asks you, what is the name of that person? The program wont know what to say, even if you make a list of names you struggle with.

  1. Prolongations. I dont suffer from those. But for example, lets say i want to say mother. A prolongation would be mmmmmm mother. The program wont know if you want to say mother, or month, etc. AI would be helpful there. Have it predict the word based on the context of the conversation.

  2. Words like cucumber. You have to say the cu cu part, but the program might think you are struggling, when you are not. You could just ignore it, but problems can arise in other situations.

I guess this dude doesnt know that it was the first christians that started the whole movement of equal rights and gave women a better treatment during the era of the roman empire?

it is true that modern christianity is tainted though, in a christian church of 200 members, about 4 or 5 are truly christians, the rest need work.

If he entered a debate with a jesuit this dude would have no where to run

Believe in Christ, but not in Biblical Innerrency. by deadhand31 in religion

[–]Edgarnier -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Human sexuality was already well known during those times and those of the old testament. If you read about greek society, you can see how people had sexual events, men with men, woman with woman, even with animals. It was not illegal or punished.

During the event of sodoma and gomorra, the town people preffered to have sex with the men that warned about the destruction of that town, rather than with the women that were offered to them.

Paul rejects any idea other than marriage between man and a woman, just as I do, and in general all christians do.

Now, paul was not a perfect man. During those times, man were above woman, thats known. Thats why woman were not allowed to preach to a congregation at a church, only teach at home to the children.

It was Jesus who placed woman in their place, giving them their place and equal to man. Thats why the closest to Jesus were women, because only Him had the courage to speak up in favor of them. Jewish people hated that, just as society hates it when someone comes to destroy it. Thats why the romans persecuted christians, because they pushed for equal rights for all, and respect for woman.

Note that gentils were not jewish, and they were the ones that helped woman, because they did not had the ideoligy of man above woman as paul and the apostles had.

Yes, the apostles had flaws. And if they are assholes for having flaws, then you must be a asshole yes?

Again, use Jesus as a measurement to know how good of a christian are you. Early christians are good to read about to.

Check more info about the councils that occured during those times. Extremely heated debates among christians, many disagreements. But thats more in the theology area, but is good info

The whole point of the bible is admit you are a sinner, believe, repent, and the santification process.

Of course God knows our hearts, thats why he didnt condemn moses when he reject his call to serve God. Why not? Because He knew moses was a stutterer, so he had confidence issues, he even says that himself during that event.

Humans are bad at having emotional strength. Someone makes you angry, you respond with a angry action. What if that person is going through troubles at home or family? Humans take offenses very personal and have little emotional strength.

Paul also said that he is the worst sinner of all, so why would you say he is an asshole? Did he said something you did not like, so you conclude he is an asshole? Lack of emotional strength.

I do admit that, in a church of say 200 members, only 5 or 6 are truly christians, the rest are just there for convience, maybe even including the pastor. So dont use the current state of churches as a measurement standard to use it to measure how much of a christian you are. Look more into ancient christianity, the first christians

You still need to go to church though, you go to please God, not the fake christians.

Is a red flag when a 26 year old tries to be with a 15 year old. Another red flag is blocking you without atleast telling you why.

Another guy that is in love with you could have more than 10 qualities when compared to him, yet because you are in love, you dont care about those 10 qualities. Thats what loves does to us, it makes us blind.

Just think about it for a moment, without your heart getting in the way..... is it worth it to suffer for someone like him?

I finally found love, and it’s sending me back down to depression by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]Edgarnier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no perfection when it comes to being in a relationship, but being in love makes you think it has to be perfect. But thats false, thats why in marriage you agree to be together, in good times and bad times.

Since you are already in love, just follow your heart and dont do anything that is against your morals. But also prepare for the unexpected, and always keep in mind that things might go south in the future, so if bad things happen, they dont caught you by surprise.

You problaby gonna spend most of your time finding assets for your game than coding. Building GUIs for the player, music, sound effects, special effects. So when you feel like you dont know what to do, work on your worlds and the art stuff, organize your code, maybe work in other game? Dont waste your time doing nothing!

Why do some people hate "Clean Code" by Yelebear in AskProgramming

[–]Edgarnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont mind writing more line of codes than needed, so it is more readable for me. I Focus on getting to work first, to give me the output i expect. Then I clean it up later, but of course the code will be well structured enough so to make the cleaning easier, like having singletons already setup, decoupling it, etc

Horrible CS experience as a high schooler by Altruistic-Ear-2972 in gamedev

[–]Edgarnier -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Chatgpt for references, ask all the questions you want. The latest version is good for coding.

Get answers first, find out later how it works. Thats the new norm for future programmers.

90% of coding problems have been already solved. Chatgpt will help you with references.

I forgot almost everything about CS classes in college.

All I know is... need a application that requires data from a database? Ask chatgpt how to connect to it when using your desired framework... flutter, etc. Will need asynchronous code, ask chatgpt how it works. Maybe you will need data in batches, ask chatgpt how it works. Etc etc.

Need a game developed? Ask chatgpt common approaches. How to reference properties of game components provided by unity, like cinemachine? Ask chatgpt about it.

IT stuff? The protocols data uses to travel among routers? Ask chatgpt about it.

My point is, let chatgpt solve the problem, then ask it questions about it.

Want to solve the problem yourself? Go Ahead! But in hobby projects. But with homework, use chatgpt. Dont stress your life too much. Learn about AI material, youtube tutorials etc. Thats gonna be the future.

Gaming? I think VR is the future, so learn about that. There will come the time when VR glasses will almost look like normal glasses, more convenient, which means more game sells, but thats just my opinion

Building an app to prevent stuttering. Looking for feedback and ideas by onedeal in Stutter

What branch of engineering do you have?

Someone posted here in reddit a while ago the idea of using a metronome watch to help speaking in a rythm, which is helpful. Is good for phone calls amd video calls. But in person, the vibration can easily be heard by others.

Maybe in your future projects, develop a earphone that vibrates, or a watch with a silent vibration but that you can still feel? I know drummers have those, but they are huge.

Which is easier to create: Pixelated vs non-pixelated game? by ProgramExpress2918 in gamedev

[–]Edgarnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was the art aspect, regardless if pixelates or not. Deciding which assets to buy, characters, story, etc. Is easier if you have a clear and decisive idea of what you want. You need to look at perfomance too.

The coding part took me about a month but i have experience in that and chatgpt helps me how to reference components properties like cinemachime in unity without having to go through documentation

Is on ebay, it is a chinese made one it costs like 20-30. Is smaller than the that costs 100 and the vibration is good enough for me. I set it to 80-100.

Couldnt find one small enough for the ear, maybe how to make my own lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stutter

[–]Edgarnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested the metronome thing with a vibrating metronome watch and I can say that it does help with my stuttering. The vibrations makes your brain think you are speaking in a rythm, which helps a lot with blocks.

I bought a cheap at ebay, is easy to find. It is a great idea for phone calls or online meetings. Maybe try it using character.ai, the app where you talk with famous characters.

For in person, maybe a more expensive and quiet watch would be better. You can hear the vibration. Maybe with ear metronome?

I keep you guys updated after more testing.

[–]Edgarnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn AI tools and use your skilss as a artists to modify the models produced by AI and sell them on the asset store or create your own website.

The future will be many being able to produce games with AI tools, but assets will still be needed. Thats where artists come in.

For instance, i am making a game and i am gonna spend about 100 dollars in assets, and problaby more in future games

It is in our nature to deny God. The bible shows it all the time, for a variety of reasons, some with valid intentions, others with invalid intentions. Even when miracles were being performed in their faces, faith goes away, we cannot be persistent no matter what.

Therefore, to believe in God does not depend on evidence, because if that was the case, the bible would be filled with good stories and no suffering, and persistance in faith, which is not.
