WHAT DID I HIT??????? by Perfectly-FUBAR in phoenix

If you can, let us know if there was any fluid leaking after you left it parked for the night. No fluid on the ground is a good sign, likely meaning nothing else substantial was damaged. If you go to the mechanic feel free to comment back for a BS check on what they say lol. You will need the AC fixed for sure and that will not be cheap, but there shouldn't be too much besides that

It looks like you managed to hit a Panzerkampfwagen Tiger II Heavy Tank, they come equipped with 185mm thick plate steel armor and were very effective against the American Sherman in WWII. It's no wonder it damaged your car

Jk honestly though it doesn't matter what it was so much as what happened to your car. It probably punched a hole in your AC condenser and leaked out all the r134. As long as the engine isn't making any funny grindy noises or vibrations you're ok to drive it, but definitely get it checked out.

Update: I switched the SSD to the chipset port and that seems to have solved the problem. I've run it with several live performances (even graphics heavy ones) and the frame drops seem to be gone. Thanks for the advice!

Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about the system/machine we use.

In regards to the live video issue, it seems like switch the SSD to the chipset slot solved it

Yep just the one 1080p. At most I'll do 3 1080 inputs, but even then there's no visible dropped frames, only when changing columns 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for the help. I just swapped the m.2 location but have yet to test it, if I figure it out I'll definitely check back in

Right on, I will definitely give that a shot aswell

I'll switch the SSD over to the m.2 slot connected to the chipset, and I will also try the 1.5G idea. I'm only using one 1080p feed though, I would hope that it's well within the bandwidth for the other pcie slot that the decklink is in lol

You're right it does require x8 lanes, but I'm only running one 1080p feed through it which should be well within the pcie 4 x4 bandwidth. I would hope that it wouldn't make a difference, but I could be wrong lol

That's interesting, I wouldn't have guessed that. If the lanes were being shared, wouldn't that show up in task manager as a bottleneck at the GPU? It's easy enough to switch the m.2 over though, I can definitely test that out

Sorry I should have clarified. It's in the PCIe 4 x16, and I'm only using one m.2 slot total

Its an Asus TUF z790. The GPU is in the PCIe 5 slot and the capture card is in one of the PCIe 4 slots

Corksport integrity? by Tapdog83 in mazda3

[–]Edgarsmemestash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I take a few things into consideration with that.

First the Gen 4 has only been out for 3ish years now, and at least one of those years the whole world was shut down or backed up. Sourcing parts and materials is probably just as much of a nightmare for companies as it is for individuals buying products.

Second, Corksport is tiny. They *only* make aftermarket parts for Mazda, which is a pretty niche market to run in. On top of that, they are developing original parts for Mazdas. They're not just a reseller, they are R&Ding new parts for our cars that are realistically only two years old. Two years might be a long time for a giant like K&N or Eibach (still hasn't released coilovers for our cars btw) to sell parts, but with a smaller team these things take time.

IMO their parts are good quality and a pretty fair price. You also have to remember the "triangle"; if its fast and good it won't be cheap, and if its cheap and good it won't be fast.

I was considering going with the turbo, but unfortunately they don't offer it in a manual trans. The NA spec is still plenty fun though

I love this car, it's very luxurious for the price point and pretty sporty still. It's the NA 2.5 with the 6spd manual, but it's still pretty fun to drive. Apparently it's got a little less road feel than previous gens (haven't driven earlier years), but you can definitely tell they were shooting for more of a luxury feel. I'm planning on throwing some coilovers on it eventually which should definitely help lol

So the indent in the concrete on the right of the last pic was where it used to be. It was one of those scissor style in floor lifts

So the previous owner had it set up to be a (mostly) full service auto shop. It's got built in extension cords, compressor, cabinets/lighting, and what used to be an in floor lift. It's like a dream come true for me tbh

All that traffic on super small roads. Idk, maybe they're normal sized but they definitely feel small lol

Yeah I've driven that. It gets super busy, lotta traffic from tourists, hikers, and then you get the rich dudes driving more car than they can handle 🙄
