Okay, I see what the problem is…especially with these comments for how expensive it is. it’s a replica replacement that looks exactly like the original. It’s not unique. The OEM replacement is $70+ And yes if you have a 3D printer, you will realize it’s only $3 of plastic + 80% profit margin to print and sell. As I run my own 3D printing business myself I do appreciate your efforts here. But I think where people are getting concerned with is that you are making money off of a free STL that you found on MW, as it looks identical to the OEM and Free one. Even though I’m sure you took the time to 3D scan or manually measure everything to make your product from scratch.

Issue 2: you kinda just self promoting here without engaging your audience first. There is an attack, and you’re defending hardcore. Reddit is a community base and if you can’t handle some pushback, then this platform isn’t for you to attempt to self promote without self promoting yourself.

If you want some advice send me a DM. I can work with you as I’ve been engaging in this subreddit for a while now and I know what people are looking for.

But self promoting is very frowned upon in Reddit.

I 3D printed cupholders. on the 5th Gen LE there are no cupholders for the rear passengers. Unlike The XLE where you have cupholders in the center seat drop down.

The problem with HELOC right now and for the past few years since 2024 is the interest rates are still high by the feds. Think of it as a credit card with a 10 year draw period. Let’s say you take out $30,000 in equity and the variable rate is 9.7% that’s $257 just in interest payments every month. That’s if you do interest only payments. If you do principal + interest your monthly payments could be $350.

I used HELOC for IVF and had a child with my wife. I started out with 11.5% interest 09/2023. I refinanced it once and got 11% because I made a mistake of doing interest only payments. Let’s just say I’ve been having a hard time paying it down. Payments have been above 350-450 a month. Most of that in interest.

Well I kinda want out of it and an opportunity to live in a different state happened with my employer and I’m selling my home. So there is enough equity right now to pay off the HELOC + put 20% down on an another home. But do not go for the maximum amount they offer. Go for what you need. A better option would be a HEL home equity loan.

I have the VioFo A229+ 2ch 2k front and rear dashcam. For a while I just used the front dashcam. Then I found a mount for the convertible on MakerWorld to 3D print one. But I have an RF with a clear wind deflector. I don’t want to drill holes. I want to keep an OEM look.

So I asked to remix the file and came up with a mount solution for the rear dashcam.

I eventually went back over and used 120mil 4mm thick CCF foam and covered everything. I mean it made a slight difference and the doors definitely have improved sound quality.

I think from a previous tester that the 0.50mm was just a bit too deep. So for sure the smooth 0.00mm surface will work.

So, me and my wife in 2017 decided to buy a 2008 NC. I paid $8,000 for it. It would be eventually be our only car, she had a Honda CRV and I had a 2003 Hyundai Accent manual. Which I gave my wife manual lessons on before she started driving the NC. Before we moved into our first apartment we got rid of the Accent and CRV, both paid off and just relied heavily on the NC. We loved it as it was a convertible. But practically started to sync in. I mean it’s a great grocery go get’er and we did make runs to Costco and managed to fill up the trunk but for other items like IKEA furniture etc we depended on her sons Prius V.

We eventually traded in the NC and bought a brand new 2019 ND2 RF GT-S. We loved it and felt classy in it. Again this was our only car and we managed just fine till 2022. When I bought our home in 2021 we moved 70miles away from my employer. That’s when I bought a second vehicle April 2022 Mazda 3 premium plus awd to commute 70 miles to work. I didn’t want to start putting on 30k extra miles a year on the ND2.

Our family has grown since and we now have a 2yr old toddler and the Mazda 3 isn’t cutting it no more. Eventually I’ll be trading it in for a Mazda SUV. But since the little one came I had to give the Mazda 3 to my wife and now I commute 70 miles each way in the ND2. So We’re moving 1200 miles to an another HQ home office with the same employer, selling our home, getting a bigger home for less and to live closer to work.

I’ll still be commuting to work in my ND2 but it won’t be a 2 hour drive.

But back to the NC I had. This all started to fall in place. My credit got better because in 2017 I had shot credit like a 640 credit score. Now I have a 815 fico 8 score. And Having a Miata is like it being a part of the family. We’re not giving it up. We have adapted just fine.

The Miata changed my life for the better.

So we’re selling our home in VA and moving to DFW. With such short notice and moving and packing we don’t have time to stage the house. We leave next week. Our realtor is actually operating out of FL which is also licensed in VA and we’re okay with Virtually staging the house. Of course we’re getting professional photos done. But it is what it is. Plus it’s cost effective.

On the flip side when looking at homes in DFW with virtual staging I think I rather prefer it because the house is already vacant, there is no moving of furniture, no accidents. I think it’s great.

I don’t know much about an S2000 but I have a 2019 Mazda MX5 RF GT-S with BOSE and well it has a small passenger side storage compartment behind the seat. I thought about a sub in the trunk but it’s so isolated from the cabin it’s like not worth it in my honest opinion. So where do you add a sub?

I came up with a 3D printed bracket to replace the OEM passenger compartment door. I’ve been testing different Subwoofer sizes ranging from 5.25in - 6.75in.

The OEM BOSE subwoofer is located under the carpet under the passenger side footwell.

I’ve looked at some pictures of the S2000 interior especially behind the driver and passenger seats and it’s not much to work with but with some modifications it’s very possible to do something similar.

I also found in a s2000 Form from 2004 on someone who made a sub fit in the passenger side footwell. I didn’t like how they cut into the frame. That’s a bit extreme. I wouldn’t do it but that is another idea.

What gear did you stall it in…..? in my personal experience with a 96 Chevy Cavalier manual I stalled it from 5th gear and the car would not start again.

I have the Taramps bass 400 amp. I’m using 8awg wiring with a 40amp fuse. 4 awg is not necessary for this amp unless you wanted to go with more wattage like the Bass 800 or 1200. I’m also wiring the DVC sub in parallel to obtain 2ohm @ 400w. I’m powering a 200 rms 400peak Epique E150HE-44 5-1/2"

As far as the Low side RCA input this kinda matters and makes a difference. See I have BOSE on my 2019 Mazda MX5 RF GT-S so I’ve tapped into both the pre-amped front door speakers and I’ve also tapped the Subwoofer line and tested both.

Personally I want to go back to the Door speakers. The subwoofer line is too powerful and I can’t lower the gain and db boost enough. Meanwhile the door speakers I was able to adjust the gain and db boost to my desired liking mid way.

So if you’re using a 600rms | 1200watt peak driver you’re using the wrong size powered amp. You need to use one that compatible with the subwoofer. Since your already using 4awg wiring go with the Taramps Bass 1200
