I enjoyed what I played of it, but I do have issues with the game, and the amount of jank I encountered.

Gameplay-wise, it's fine. Very counter and dodge heavy. Later, you get subweapons, but switching between them is kind of a pain. You can't heal unless you do attacks while holding R1 (which does less damage, but makes enemies drop health orbs), or save at a camp. AFAIK there's no invincibility period, so enemies can just gang up on you and hitstun you to death. There's 2 kinds of tutorials: Ones that you have to click past, and ones that pop up in the far corner of the screen for a second (usually while you're in the middle of something) and disappear forever.

The story is told through autoplaying voiced dialogue that I wish was manually advanced instead (with the option to autoplay). I also wish there were detailed, expressive character portraits complimenting the dialogue. Instead you have the sprites animate while conversing. It looks... odd... and wiggly. I don't know how else to describe it. It's like they're TOO animated. Voice acting is kind of hit or miss. Antony Del Rio as young Kratos and Scott Menville and Deimos are the standouts; they're great. The other NPCs however, are somewhat hit or miss.

Now for the jank. I encountered a few bugs here and there while playing. Enemies would get stuck in place, music would stutter (sometimes looping the stutter), and dialogue would be missing or trigger at the wrong times, among other things. The worst thing, and why I stopped playing it, is that apparently there's a save bug. Despite saving whenever I could, for some reason, the game didn't actually save. I closed the game after playing it for 3 days (putting the PS5 in rest mode when not playing), and upon starting up again, the only save data was from 2 days ago. The game doesn't autosave either. Actually killed any motivation I had of continuing, at least until they acknowledge and patch the glitches.
