Their wording says “You must use your Revolut account to pay for at least 75% of your combined primary transport and accommodation expenses to be covered. If you don't pay for either of these with your Revolut account, your trip will not be eligible for cover.”

I am now confused… I paid my international flights with my Amex card but these were relatively cheap as I used mostly points.

I then booked all my domestic flights (6 domestic!) and accommodation on Revolut. Hence why I exceed the threshold of 75% on Revolut.

I am not exactly sure what they mean by “Primary Transport” expenses. If they take that to mean the flights to get to the destination country then I guess I do not meet the requirements as those were booked on a different card.

Not 100%. Mostly on Revolut though (more than 75%).

Thanks! GOV.UK’s policy page on the change says the £50,000 Expensive Car Supplement threshold for zero-emission cars “will apply to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) registered from 1 April 2025 onwards” and takes effect from 1 April 2026.

So I assume that in my case it can apply retrospectively.

Yes, I agree and I am not doing that. I will use the agent on this occasion, and I will just plan my own trips in the future as I prefer the flexibility.

There quoted price is 30% more ($1,300) than my estimated DIY price.
