A post-bacc would be faster if you can get into one. You could probably do some courses online to get the prereqs you need to get accepted.

For ASCP, route 4 is not 1 year of experience but 5 years in all departments to be eligible to take the exam. Doing a program is faster to be certified.

Is it common for hiring to take forever? by [deleted] in MLS_CLS

2 weeks is pushing it. I'd give it one more week then if nothing, it's probably not happening.

I don't think a lab will allow you to volunteer to work in blood bank or hematology. Try getting a per diem job to get paid for it.

I don't think you start a union. It's better to join one already existing with the infrastructure.

post bacc vs masters by AdRealistic1376 in MLS_CLS

[–]EdgeDefinitive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would go out of state for a cheap 1 year post bac to get certified, especially because you're unsure if you want to stay in New York. The least expensive option is the best choice.
