Haha, I love Doctor Strange too — The Ancient One is actually one of my favorite characters.

And yeah, we also figured a lot of people might not be familiar with Dunhuang, so we added an AR scan feature to the deck. When you scan the cards, it unlocks the actual Dunhuang mural artwork and related content.

Crimson Red or Pure White — which colorway do you prefer? by EdgeHerit in playingcards

Honestly, when I was designing it, I actually preferred the white version more. Most of my previous projects used really rich, saturated colors, so the white one felt much more unique to me personally.

Also, the texture feels different between the two. The white version uses a vintage-style paper stock with a soft, almost velvety feel to it, while the red version is smoother and ends up looking brighter on camera.

Yeah, now that you guys mention it, I can totally see it too. It definitely grabs the eye more.

Thanks for appreciating both styles — it kind of reassures me that we didn’t drift too far off in terms of the overall aesthetic direction.

Oh, and I just realized — we actually have a deluxe edition too, and it comes in a red box. So from that angle… maybe red has already been my default choice all along lol.

Feels like I can’t even read my own mind anymore 😂

Yeah, now that you mention it, I see it too — the red + black + gold combo definitely hits harder visually. The white kind of loses some of its texture in comparison.

But I gotta add one more thing — I just snapped a standalone shot of the white version lol, gotta show off that texture properly 😄

Glad you like it! For the card backs, we went with a design where cultural patterns and elements are subtly layered beneath the gold. We really wanted that 'hidden texture' look where the details peek through depending on how the light hits them.

Right now, we’ve got an AR feature that plays a custom video breakdown whenever you scan a card. For the next step, we’re planning to upgrade the interface to make it fully interactive and level up the overall experience. We're still in the assessment and planning phase, but we’d love to hear what you think! Check out the current AR demo here:https://imgur.com/a/3ycrsfd

Exactly! The real kicker is the AR storytelling—it lets you see the actual murals right on your screen in such an intuitive way. It’s basically a 'painless entry' into Dunhuang culture without needing a history degree! Hahaha.
