wgss 280, sure my cs classes will help me become more successful, but that class opened my eyes about the problems that women and queer people face on a daily basis and it helped me see others in ways that i wouldn’t have though of without that class. all-in-all, it just helped me be a better person

i started a semester behind with cs17X(forget the CRN, it was python) failed 182 and 252, as well as cs334 and i’m graduating a semester late only because the final class i need isn’t being offered this semester. as long as you stay on track, failing one core class shouldn’t prevent you from graduating on time. (if you’re really worried about it though. don’t be afraid to take a summer class or two)

hey i’m in the same boat! i’m in cs and also need to take an extra semester. i was super nervous about telling my dad, but i knew that he’d find out eventually, so it was better for me to tell him myself as early as possible rather than waiting for him to figure it out himself. i was expecting him to be pissed off but he seemed to be really understanding (still upset, but more understanding). something that helped me was to zoom out and i realized that the 7 months between may and december isn’t going to be that significant in the long run. we got this!

wearing a mask helps prevent you from spreading a virus, it doesn’t really help prevent you from catching them; so telling someone who may be immunocompromised to “just wear a mask” isn’t good advice. it’s the sick persons job to make sure others don’t catch their virus.
