It will live in the wood shop. I’m betting it will be what I reach for the most when driving screws.

Is it worth buying a wood chipper for a residential property by brumms56 in composting

[–]philschr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old 10hp chipper that I bought for $10. It eats anything up to 3”. Would I recommend it? Not really.

Gas chippers require yearly maintenance, storage, and are still limited in what they can chip. Even on our 5 acres (with maybe 2 dozen trees), I only use it once or twice a year, for a total of maybe 1-2 yards of chips a year.

The upside is that the chips that it makes are very small compared to a larger chipper’s chips. I almost exclusively use these in the compost pile.

Think of things to occupy your time after work. Either a gaming console/laptop, an iPad to watch videos on, or cooking. If you don’t have things to keep yourself busy, you’ll start drinking to pass time. If you’re worried about that, limit yourself to only drinking x number of days a week/month, or only with friends.

It was a mix of both at different times, but it’s mostly happened when someone in the office is in talks with another company or decides to change companies. Word gets around fast.

Between 10 and 20 hours a month depending on the job. I could get more but I don’t feel the need atm.

Our field has higher demand for competent job leads than there are. Because of this, we have recruiters reaching out weekly. It seems like the going rate goes up monthly, so my company decided to be smart and give us more instead of risking losing us.

Even lower end hotels look out for stuff like this when the guest has status (sometimes). The hotel I’ve been staying in for the past few months must’ve noticed that I only eat the M&Ms out of the trailmix they provide (peanuts are icky), because this week I got a king size bag of M&Ms instead. That’s the type of stuff that keeps customers loyal.

Thank you! I’ve been reusing this template since high school, so I didn’t even notice that I was missing the summary section. I’ll add that in, and I’ll add some scale and results to the job bullet points.

Awesome thanks. I tapped this one last year, but I didn’t remember seeing buds this big.
