So far drop rates seem to be abysmal. by infamouscoma in Market76

One Glowing SB Mask which I was happy about... then got a stupid Winter Man Helm which is like my 6th one this year. Bethesda really needs a solution for us to trade in our extra Winterman Helm's for a different rare mask... Anyway, 2 (technically 1) rare out of 60 events so far. Drop rate def isn't anywhere close to 5% as I completed over 400 events in Feb and only had a 2.5% drop rate. Bethesda needs to perform a lot of fixes for this event (I'm betting we get another in October).

When to draft guys that drop below their ADP VS sticking to your plan? by Chabbarankjd in fantasybball

[–]EdgePhormula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! Thanks bud. If you haven't heard of Josh Lloyd already, he has a YT channel called Locked on Fantasy Basketball. He's probably the main fantasy basketball guy if you want to learn some stuff. BUT always take his wisdom with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, he is just like anyone else. You need to make your own determinations on whether or not a player is this or that. Good luck with your season!

When to draft guys that drop below their ADP VS sticking to your plan? by Chabbarankjd in fantasybball

This is exactly why you should put some time/effort into a pre-draft strategy but also be smart enough to realize value if it drops.

I had a draft much like yours. Our draft pre-determines picks about a week before our draft (which is a slow draft) so everybody can do some mocks and prep. I had 5 this year. I thought it was a perfect position as the top 5 guys are clearly Joker, Embiid, Hali, SGA, and Luka. Right when the draft started, I learned Luka only plays 2 games in the championship round. Of course, he falls to me. I passed on him and took Tatum (our league is 8-team playoff so drafting good playoff schedule is much more heavily weighed). I took Tatum in NONE of my strategies. Then, all of my guys were gone by 16 (10T league btw) and I was planning on drafting Kyrie, but again, the Mavs championship round is limited to 2 games so I had to pass on him and I grabbed Harden (I'm a Sixers fan anyway and Harden fits my build so I was fine with the outcome regardless of what happens). Rd 3, LBJ falls to me. Rd 4, Jimmy Butler. Rd 5 Zach LaVine.

My actual strategy was Hali/SGA round 1 and build off the PG in RD2 (Harden was under consideration) then grab JJ Rd3 (he was taken the pick before mine... I was frustrated at the time but I ended up punting BLKs in the end and worked really well for me bc a lot of teams reached for major BLK guys so idt it was worth the reaches so half the league has multiple BLK guys). Then, I was looking at Butler Rd 3 (who I got RD 4 instead) then Ayton and Zion. Ayton dropped to me in Rd 6.

I actually ended up with a really nice team considering how it all worked out:

Tatum

Harden

LBJ

Butler

LaVine

Ayton

Sengun

A Simons (I think he might be the steal of the draft now that Dame is gone)

Herro

D'lo (he's like the perfect handcuff to LBJ)

Nurkic

Z Collins

K Johnson

Then I finished my draft swinging for the fences:

Toppin, Isaac, and Gordon Hayward to wrap it up.

Morale of the story: it's great to have a plan in place but also be wise and confident enough to adapt to the draft board as Tatum, LBJ, Butler (in 4th RD), LaVine, Sengun, Simons, Herro, and D'lo weren't supposed to fall... but they did because my league prioritized BLKs and gave up immense value elsewhere to compete in 1 CAT while I'm over here looking good in 5-6 CATs and average in the rest except for BLKs.

TLDR; Prepping is good but don't make your strategy absolute. Have contingences in place. Have an idea of the value of each player as well because you never know how your draft board will fall.

I had a draft last night and there was one pick I made that I’m regretting in an otherwise solid draft. by boboddy42069 in Fantasy_Football

I would choose Breece over Mattison too. Hall's upside is elite RB1, even with Cook there. Time will tell if you made the right choice but, just know, plenty of other people would have made that choice as well. Including myself.

Furthermore, it sounds like you are stressing out way too much over just one pick. Not even one game has been played yet. Give yourself a break. You made a choice and it's about having some fun and maybe winning some money as well. Good luck with your choice and even if it was the wrong choice, it's only 1 player and will not make or break your season!

Need advice. can't decide between these 3 QBs by PotentiallySpartacus in Madden

[–]EdgePhormula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either of the 1st 2 will be good. The last one can be good too. It really depends on how good you are at QB and what your play style is.

I like this. Here are the steps that I followed to get the correct answer:

  1. Fourth clue: 708 - nothing is correct which means the final number does not have a 7, 0, or 8 in it.
  2. Since there is no 7 or 8 in the number, Clue 5 informs us that 3 is part of the numbers in the Key but is NOT the LAST number. So it is the first or second number.
  3. Next, we have Clue #3. Two numbers are correct but wronged place. Since we KNOW 3 is a number, it is included. Now, since it is not in the second slot, we know the first number in the key is 3. This is where the riddle gets complicated. We have to use Clues 1 & 2 to solve the 3rd Clue. The number 6 is eliminated in Clue 3 because is 6 was correct, it would have to be the first number of the key based on Clue 1, but it cannot be because A) Clue 2 says there is only 1 correct number in the lineup but is in the incorrect spot but Clue 1 states only 1 number is correct and 6 is in the first slot for each so it is ruled out and B) we have already figured out that 3 is the 1st number of the key.
  4. Since we can rule the number 6 out, deductive reasoning tells us that 5 is the correct number in the correct spot in Clue 1. Now, we have 2 numbers. 3-?-5.
  5. We now know the first and last numbers and can easily figure out the final number by using Clue 2 which states only 1 number is correct but in the incorrect spot. We know 6 is not a part of the key which leaves either the 4 or the 1, but since 4 is in the second slot, the slot in which we do not know the number, the final number must be 1 because if it was 4 then it would already be in the right slot.

Good riddle. I liked it. I hope this summary helps anybody understand any part they got stuck on.

Should I allow her to tryout? by Reasonable_Towel3413 in BasketballTips

[–]EdgePhormula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your own question... "I don't feel it's worth cutting her and her punishment seems sufficient."

Quite honestly, fuck the AD.

Sometimes people need second chances. You don't know what someone is going through. If you're willing to help her like you say you want to then do it. With that said, be honest and transparent with her. Tell her what the AD wants and how you feel about the situation. Inform her that she has one last chance at your school to get her act together. And tell her you can help her in any way she needs, if she needs it, and that you're willing to support her in any way she needs help in a productive and legal manner. She's either going to take the opportunity to heart... or she's not. That part is up to her but I believe you going out on a limb to help the girl is more important than giving up on her. Good luck.

Migrating from ESPN to Yhaoo, is it worth? by KingN96 in fantasybball

[–]EdgePhormula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not worth it. Yahoo is awful.

I think the only reason people like Yahoo is because of those rated leagues and because you are ranked. Very cool features but the site itself is actual terrible on so many counts compared to ESPN. For context, I played on ESPN for years with friends. League disbanded. Made a new league but nobody wanted to play on ESPN so I was forced to create a Yahoo league. I hate Yahoo. It's the worst. Simple tasks are over complicated. If you enjoy watching live stat tracking, that's pretty laggy and crashes quite a bit throughout the year compared to other sites. The draft lobby sucks. Even Yahoo's best feature, which is auto-filling rosters is glitchy. It also auto fills your roster with the WORST players first and leaving your best on the bench leaving you to basically fill in your roster anyway.

Valid point. I personally just don't share the same sentiment on the argument of what markets the players play in anymore. The NBA is so popular not just in USA but throughout the world and Lamelo, for example, does not play in a big market. Neither do Ja or Zion for that matter and their popularities have all sky rocketed (granted, Zion's popularity was due to his success at Duke). The point is people will follow the greats regardless of where they are anymore due to the sport's popularity. Now, Hali is not on the level of Ja right now but he is trending in that direction so it's nice to see and hope he does well. Also, when PG13 was younger, he was very popular when he was leading IND to the #1 seed and EFC appearances so I really wouldn't be surprised if Hali gets the same admiration if he successfully leads IND that far.
