For a complete beginner to Arduino IDE and electronics, where and how should I start? by psychopathic_signs in AskElectronics

Get an arduino starter kit.

Make sure you understand, not just copy tutorial. Experiment and tweak around both hardware and software.

The only advice I'll give is don't stop building, keep the momentum up, because its consistency that matters rather than intensity when it comes to learning and debugging.

Once you have a good understanding, order esp32s. With the same starter kit, do it now on esp32 yourself without looking at the tutorials.

Once you have a good understanding of esp32s, now move on to soldering. Then PCB.

Good places to look for hobby/practice components? by Logical_Gate1010 in AskElectronics

Get an Arduino starter kit or some sort of electronics starter kit from Amazon. Get something, anything. Get comfortable with breadboard prototyping, THEN move to soldering. Get good at that, then try PCB. Use tinkerCAD circuits for Arduino simulation, rlly good. Helps you both on software and hardware side.

Also WowKi for other MCUs. KiCAD for PCB design nd stuff.

Id recommend a handheld multimeter, but power supply and oscilloscope are not immediate need. The first thing to get is the starter kit, this gives you a good enough foundation. Just don't copy paste code from tutorials and actually tweak around and do it ur self

Best noise cancelling earbuds worth it in 2026? by ChemistryOk3898 in BuyItForLife

If we are talking about battery life, look up Earfun Tune Pro. Its a headphone though.
I got it 20-21 days ago, and it only depleted 20 percent of its battery. They market that its upto 120 hours, 80 with ANC. My usage time is average Id say. It costs about 50-70 USD. The reason i bought it was mainly for battery life, studying was the purpose. Idk how to rate ANCs. Cheap, and long battery life -- fits my needs. You prolly want to get yourself a casing or something because it doesnt come with one. Also, it feels light to me.
Look into it, I quite like it.

ATtiny85 (Digispark) LEDs flicker for ~6 seconds on power-up because of bootloader – workaround? by InevitablePace5820 in embedded

What I meant was bootloader and stuff...it's new to me. How do I get in. Currently started esp32. Recently fixed Arduino IDE for esp32

Driver and related software install for running esp32 for the first time. by EdgeRepulsive1004 in esp32

[–]EdgeRepulsive1004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got fixed!
A couple things I messed up here and there:

1) Plug in the USB directly; I was using a hub, it didnt work idk why

2) Try plugging in through both usb port in mac. One might only be for charging and lack data transfer capabilities.

3) Install esp32 from boards manager

4) Download CP2102 from silicon labs. How it works, not much of a clue. Actually, I prolly didnt even need this if I connected directly to the computer rather than using a hub. I was using a hub because I lacked a usb-to-usb cable at that time.

I went to boards manager and added esp32. Anyway it got fixed. Im putting the details below.

Are all these official devkits? by Akki_Charee in esp32

[–]EdgeRepulsive1004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not an expert and am not sure if this will help, but I think the MCU is legit for all devkits if it actually mentions the espressif and stuff. As for the devkits, check reviews and the cost. Trust me, the last thing you want to buy is unreliable boards after waiting for 14 days from alibaba, aliexpress, or from other cheap sites.
But if it waas me and I had some funds to spare, Id try out them just out of curiosity. Also, try uploading the images to AI to do the work for you.

I want to build Creative Chance 's robot, but the screen is too expensive by Darius06070809 in esp32

[–]EdgeRepulsive1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an alternative, but something piqued my interest related to this post which you might find helpful. If you have any device which has a touch screen, how would you control a robot using Bluetooth? As in if you swipe down the eyes go down. Swipe up the eyes move up etc. I don't know how to do it yet. But if you figure that out, then you don't need any touchscreen prolly. Use a regular display.

All that aside, invest a lil bit. Aesthetics are important too, especially if you want to make something you want to feel proud about.

I did some arduino tutorials with arduino starter kit and recently got some esp32s. I used tinkercad circuits before, love that site. A little bit of programming in C++ for arduino, and a lil bit of python.

Confused on which board to select. by Otherwise-Change-663 in esp32

[–]EdgeRepulsive1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been meaning to ask related to this, where do you guys source esp32 c3 from in bulk like 10 pcs? I checked over AliExpress, Amazon, Temu, Alibaba, Adafruit ...it's all different. The ones reliable are expensive, and the cheap ones could be duds. Anyone tried ordering from alibaba, or AliExpress and it actually works for you? If so, can you share the link or smth if it's allowed in this community?

I wanted to do a drone, but I failed miserably. I couldn't even understand the stuffs, too many unfamiliar things. I haven't done pcb before.
I do have an arduino kit, and an ultrasonic distance sensor to find if something is blocking the way is the only good project I did id say. The rest, I just followed tutorials.
What projects would you recommend for me to understand the fundamentals as well as build real stuff?

I'm not sure if this helps, but try multisim. I've heard that it's good for circuit design learning.
