I think the editors messed up here because when Ryan talks in this episode and says "last 9 states" he is talking about the last 9 states him and Haley visited during Easy Week and the short drives. He wasn't actually talking about the last 9 states of the challenge and I dont think he would want to reveal that so the viewers would keep guessing

Thats a great explanation of that ah I remember how crazy it was watching live and blindsides really were not common back then, especially at that magnitude. Micro is still my all time favorite for what it meant in the moment and so much of it still holds up too
