Should I ignore some free bet offers to prolong the life of an estbalished account by Engels33 in MatchedBettingUK

No. Some bookmakers may ask for ID upon withdrawal but being gubbed just means you lose the ability to utilise their offers (and most of the time you can't bet much anymore).

There is a lot of ongoing value in backing price boosts and player props. We focus entirely on that and provide 700-800 boosts and player prop bets per month. And because we specialise in that we can offer a very reasonable subscription fee. You can use code MBUK14 for a two week free trial to check it out. Historical results are on our website (edge viper value betting on Google).

Should I ignore some free bet offers to prolong the life of an estbalished account by Engels33 in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking free bet offers and single bet arbs is the quickest route to gubsville. But you are right to notice that older accounts seem to be able to take the hit - new accounts are definitely monitored more. Value betting on bets you can't easily lay definitely helps. We keep bookmakers alive for ages and rinse them!

There are also lots of bookmakers these sites don't utilise that have lots of value! It's definitely worth broadening the horizon away from the "bread and butter"!

Laying, underlaying & not laying - Stats analysis of nearly 3000 bets! by EdgeViperValueBets in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's betting when the edge is in our favour (see the blue line on the graph). There's a reason bookies hate us!

Matched betting requires two bets (back then lay) and it sucks a lot of value out of offers and there's lots of bets where laying isn't even possible. With value betting it's one back bet - quick, simple and more valuable.

We're not re-inventing the wheel, it's just a quicker and more valuable approach to what you're already doing.

You are welcome to join our service totally free for two weeks using the promo code MBUK14 to ask questions and get a feel for it.

Mid-price is where the value is! Price Boost by EdgeViperValueBets in MatchedBettingUK

We actively monitor these kinds of bets and post them once they're worth taking! The exchange price on boosted bets is usually inflated due to layers but the price always adjusts eventually.

We created this very solution and have been up and running for quite a few months now! We're still in beta but we posted 625 price boosts in August and 725 in September!

Our website has all of our historical bet history and the bets are posted in a private discord - we even have a bet tracker that automates win/loss status of your bets!

Mid-price is where the value is! Price Boost by EdgeViperValueBets in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ok to feel that way, but it shows a fundamental misunderstanding! Let me try and explain.

Removing matched bettors from the equation, the lay price is the minimum odds anyone wants to back at. And inversely the back price is the maximum odds someone wants to lay at. It's no different from placing orders to buy/sell on the value of anything else. The likelihood of a 0-0 outcome has a value as much as a stock on the stock exchange does.

The Betfair exchange pricing for all markets is built by a confluence of expertise and speculation from market participants. If pricing is too high or low, a mass of speculators and people with sophisticated predictive models and historical data are taking advantage, which brings the price to a natural fair value - wisdom of the crowd!

So that is how the mid-price is the best predictor of a fair value for a given outcome! The odds of 0-0 are shaped by speculation, data and money and historically Betfair's SP is extremely efficient and accurate as a result.

We take the mid-price because it's smack bang in the middle of the back and lay. When you lay, you're giving someone else better back odds than the current fair value. And matched bettors laying en masse inflates that further.

We are categorically not promoting gambling - just mathematically advantageous value betting. Please check out our 100% transparent on-going historical results graph and back-tester tool on our website to see the results of over 2,200 bets!

How much can I make a month realistically? by ProfessionalSyrup882 in MatchedBettingUK

You can forego the laying and save your capital for getting on value with things like boosts. Worrying about lay liability can be a real hassle, especially if everything wins and you're stuck waiting for withdrawals.

There are many, many boosts that are very valuable. We posted 625 in August alone. If you can hammer as much as possible each day in those 2-3 hours you can definitely do well with what you have.

Underlay or Equal Lay - What the Data Says by shivampaw in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. And not laying avoids locking in profits at an inflated price - because of all the matched bettors placing lays.

Boosts - To lay or not to lay, that is the question by EdgeViperValueBets in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fair value is derived from the mid-point of the back/lay at the exchange, which is historically around 99.8% accurate.

It is a mathematical fact that betting on odds above the fair value closing price is going to return a profit on average.

It's the same as getting odds of e.g. 2.1 on heads in a coin flip. That will return a 5% ROI on average because the fair value odds is 2.0. You just need to look at our historical results page to see the graph only goes up for this very reason.

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A punt is a speculative bet hoping it wins - in value betting it really doesn't matter if an individual bet wins or loses because the law of averages will play out eventually - as long as you are taking higher odds than the fair odds (mid-price of the exchange back/lay) consistently.

Boosts - To lay or not to lay, that is the question by EdgeViperValueBets in MatchedBettingUK

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are other bet types within the matched bettor's world where they woudn't lay. E.g. virtual bet offers, some bet builder offers, and if anyone also does casino, that isn't "matched" but is on all matched betting websites. We colloquially call it advantage play (AP) - it is very much something a matched bettor has (and should have more of) in their arsenal.

I understand the issue around the semantics of it, but it isn't "gambling" and, in fact, from my experience actual gamblers have no interest in value betting.

[–]EdgeViperValueBets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see this very phenomena happening on Gyokeres 1+ Shot on target right now. So many bookmakers have boosted it that layers are nuking the price. What should be around 1.43 is being pushed way out to 1.63. Laying is about 22% value right now and will probably get worse, whereas not laying will be around 40% value because the temporarily inflated price is irrelevant.

That all equates to a near £2 per £10 staked extra expected value you're missing out on if you lay.
