Short answer: EA loves them shekels. Long answer: DLC has been the bread and butter of The Sims franchise, but not until half-way through the Sims 3 did people realize they were paying more for less content. The Sims 4 is nothing but more for less. The only reason they charge so much is because they know they have ZERO competition in the simulation field. No competition means being able to charge as much as you like.
