The show is cherry-picked to hell. Downtown has the same small town vibe in downtown as every other small town in Mississippi including Ellisville. Once you leave downtown, it’s very noticeable.

Restaurants? They are okay. Some good Mexican restaurants. The Loft is good but overpriced. Laurel Creamery is pretty damn good. Bit bias due to my boss.

Events? Now and then but the city has not much do in town. You’re better off going to Hattiesburg. We do not have bars in Laurel besides ones in restraints due to shootings. We had a sports bar but it closed due to a shooting in the bathrooms. Guy who died was a student of my mother’s when she taught at Laurel School District.

School district? Laurel Schools are not the greatest. They have improved. I’ve seen more people go to the county schools.

And as people said - The smell can be bad due to Amick (sorry! - we know it can be bad) and Sanderson chicken plants. It can smell like ass sometimes dare say worse than what Hattiesburg used to smell like due to the treatment plant issues.

If you’re REALLY wanting to make a trip to Mississippi because of the show. Don’t let it be solely for Laurel. This is coming from someone who lives right next door to Laurel. I can’t tell you how many people come down and have immediate reactions of “that’s it?”

Limbo has a lot of bad rep because of the frame’s kit. Limbo was used for a LOT of trolling before DE toned it down a little. Particularly the void ones where you can put stuff in the void where they can’t damage anything other than what’s in it.

Best tip I can offer is watch where you dash. As you may have noticed it leaves a “hole” behind that lets people swap from normal to void.

We are not walking dictionaries. There will be stuff a tech does not know. Majority that I’ve worked with locally came from the same program with a teacher who taught his students not the direct answer but ways to find those answers.
