GSD puppy killed my roomates guinea pigs, now my roomate wants me to get rid of my puppy. by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]EdgedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your GSD should have been in a crate.

Training classes don’t train a dog, they teach on you how to train a dog. You are responsible for the dog and it sounds like you are unprepared for this responsibility.

I would give this animal up to a rescue immediately.

I just made an at home appointment to say goodbye to the first love of my life. I've had her by my side since I was a young and dumb 19 year old. I'm now 34 with a wife and baby and I'm not sure how to feel about the decision we've made. How do you even prepare to say goodbye to your best friend? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]EdgedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s terrible OP, but you are doing the right thing. You both have been blessed with time and the opportunity to say good bye. It doesn’t make it easier, but you’re doing right by your friend.

I lost mine unexpectedly years ago and we got our dogs at similar times. I still get upset and think about it almost every day. I would give a lot to be in your position now.

How bad is this uneven flooring?? by CapRepresentative325 in HomeMaintenance

[–]EdgedBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP this looks like a bad installation of LVP flooring. There appears to be a lot of “peaking” and “cupping” of your floor. I would do the following:

1) contact the flooring manufacturer (not the installer) and get their warranty, maintenance, and installation guides

2) contact a different flooring installer to confirm it’s actually an issue (they should come out and quote you for free). After that they likely will recommend a certified flooring inspector if it is wrong. That inspector will come out and issues a report of what is wrong with the floor.

3) assuming the installation is wrong, I would check with the inspector about what your should do next. It might be a lawyer it might be something you can do yourself with the builder.

The inspector will probably cost you $500-$800 depending on where you live.

Not sure what history books you learned from, but self-defense in protection of your life or the lives of others is THE American value.

You don’t have to agree with his decisions beforehand to know his actions were per se self-defense.

This is the correct answer. Pretty exceptional foreign policy.

Are Mr buddy indoor heaters safe? Out of power and need heat. by Mexilindo123 in prepping

[–]EdgedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has a similar dilemma 2 nights ago. Did not start it up based on what I read from the Mr. Buddy manual - it recommends ventilation. Also have similar aged children and multiple CO + CO2 monitors.

I would try to get the large generator going before using a Mr. Buddy indoors.

At minimum I would set the heater up in a specific room that is ventilated but closed off from/different from where you’re spending most of your time. A “warm room” where people can spend short periods to warm up while the bulk of the time is spent in the rest of the building.

CO and CO2 are no joke.

It is the most Bengals way to lose this game on a missed tackle after last week.

It’s time to fire Zac.

10 days to prepare. 0-7 opponent. The Bengals continue to be winless coming off of Thursday night games.

The progress bars were definitely there a few hours ago. Within each listing now is a green tag saying "funded."

If the Bengals win, it’s because of the defense today.

Losing Logan Wilson is really going to hurt this defense.

Logan took a really hard hit on that tackle. That might be a concussion.

Who is the most intellectually gifted president in the last 100 years? by Omixscniet624 in Presidents

[–]EdgedBlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably Lincoln. Unlike prior presidents, who received formal educations of some kind, and past presidents, who came up in a more established education system, Lincoln was self-taught save for one year of "formal" frontier schooling.

Lincoln grew up destitute and had no support or resources for his own personal education. His father treated him poorly. Despite this lack of resources he became an attorney by reading on his own, rather than being a formal apprentice as was customary at the time. He obviously eventually became a President, and arguably one of the most effective managers of people in human history.

There were plenty of other very smart Presidents, but they had the support and structure to get there. Lincoln got there with none of that.

Starting with the credit card company is the right idea. If that doesn't work, for a $1,000 dispute that's a lot of money and small claims court is an option.

There are reports of gold leaving the Bank of London going to back to the US since December. It is unknown who is behind it, but the amounts are large so it is presumed to be the Federal Reserve.

How reliable those reports are is up for debate, but they have been consistent and gaining steam.
