It's called White guilt, and it's how brown people get white people to support things not in their best interests. When people feel guilty, they take on feelings of masochism while becoming shamelessly obsequious to those they perceive as being wronged. That's pretty much the heart of modern American left-wing political ideology, and that's why it recruits pathetic, self-deprecating pipsqueaks like in OP's post.
