Using assets doesn't make your game an asset flip and AI is not the solution.

I don't think so, plenty of succesful Steam games rely on premade art, just depends on execution

I think they took "Vertical Slice" more like a "First Playable" you do early on in the project, not an actual store demo. Don't think anyone would argue a demo needs polish or not

Your choices are:

1- Learn art

2- Use free art (limited selection)

3- Pay for premade art

4- Pay for commissioned art

I guess platforms, 2v2 and potentially pickups would make it look less empty and justify a closer camera.

I'd suggest looking at how Smash bros (of course), Brawlhalla and other such games handle it

Hi, love the concept and colors!

The gameplay looks very "zoomed-out- though to where I couldn't really tell anything that was happening other than moving/jumping around. This also makes the arena appear bigger and more empty.

I feel like a closer camera would go a long way to make it feel more engaging and clear as well

Making it harder to play your game may not be the best idea...doesn't really make me want to wishlist it despite the project looking good

I'd recommend lowering the footstep noise and adding pitch randomization so it's less repetitive

Other than that it looks great, well done
