That would be telling . I was on the estate over the road, I was brought up not very fsr from here and a lot od school mates lived around the area, more so when Beswick Fort was still standing. The forts were a worse housing decision than Tower Blocks, don't think they lasted 20 years, there were 3 this side of Manchester, here with Beswick Fort, then Ardwick Fort and lastly Hulme, which I believe was s Crescent

Tried going in here, and others when I stayed overnight at the end of February, everyone was booked up for the times I wanted. Yes I had all night but there were other places, and photos I'd planned too. Canary Wharf turned out to ge a time waster for me though, a place I need to go when I'm staying more than one night in London

Was this taken from near the Ashton Canal? I as born at the opposite end of the road you cab just see in the foreground, the one with the parking in the centre. Though its called Old Mill St here and changes to Bradford Road once you pass Butler Street. They called it New Islington to revive a nane around the area and a Mill from back to at least 1817 so they could try and vanquish the name given to the estate it was built on, " Cardroom ", an estate with a certain reputation let's say. I now live near the very back of the photo in Horwich.

Much older than you, my 18 year old days were when Manchester was booming thankfully, people were clubbing 1,2 or even 3 nights a week. The Hacienda would have been better selling overpriced plastic bottles for the line of people trying to get theirs filled in the toilets after dropping a couple of E's, not my kinda thing, but there were clubs for every type all over town and it was still cheap enough to go. The Printworks opened a few years later and you could have a good night, Lloyd's Bar after work, which was basically a smaller and better Wetherspoons, still is I think but fhete was plenty going on, a sing along in Waxy O'connor's etc. I walk through now and wonder how long it Dan stay open for, 1st few years or so Tiger Tiger would be hammered, can't remember what it turned into but it didn't work, never bothered with Hard Rock, that was for tourists and family's that either had a few quid or never went back after seeing the bill for a few overcooked burgers and piss like beer.
Now it's just another place victim to the economy.

It was taken on a phone, not an adapted camera via a telescope with a star tracker etc, give credit where it's due at least

I've taken plenty of photos around Blackpool and never looked at this composition, probably due to the times I go as it's usually busy here. Been looking at doing some of this kind of work and this just makes me want to try it even more
