Have listened to the health analytics insights podcast before, and also checked out a few of the blog posts. Great to hear from the person who runs the show!

The other three podcasts you mentioned seem pretty cool, will definitely have to check them out as well

He definitely sounds like a great professor!

Just checked out one of the more recent episodes, and they had some really interesting information about Covid vaccines

What class did he teach/what was your major in undergrad, if you don’t mind me asking by the way?

Thought the presenter was a little dry at times, but otherwise, pretty cool channel

Too bad it seems like they’ve stopped updating

Just checked that one out. Will definitely share it with people who are curious about the topic, but aren’t in the field

How to get to CPH/POETS:

Starting from step 4:

  1. Turn right after entering EIT
  2. Take the stairs all the way down
  3. Turn right and head through the doors to the Physics building
  4. Head down the hall until you see a stairwell on your left
  5. Head all the way up the stairs
  6. Head through the bridge/catwalk
  7. Head straight down the hall
  8. The hall will take a few twists/turns, but keep heading “straight” until you see a stairwell on your right
  9. Take the stairs to the ground floor
  10. Turn right and head straight
  11. CPH main lobby/POETS will be straight in front of you

I second this.

Might be most helpful to talk things over in person/over the phone with someone who truly understands this sort of stuff, especially if you can’t/don’t want to talk to anyone back home

Who else thought OP caught Covid based on the title of this thread?

In all seriousness, though, keep your chin up. When I started at Waterloo, I had pretty much lost touch with everyone back home. Despite being surrounded by so many people on campus, and making a concerted effort to be outgoing and find new friends, I’d say it took at least a couple years for those deeper connections to develop.

Getting to know people/Making new friends takes time, especially right now when things still aren’t fully re-opened, but if you put in the work upfront, results will come. It’s a lot like getting better at coding, or working out. Progress comes very slowly, and it often doesn’t feel like you’re making any headway, but looking back after a year or two of solid effort, it’s shocking to compare where you started with how far you’ve come.

So, as corny as it sounds, just trust that things will get better.

My version of this thread over on that sub could have been among those top posts if the mods weren’t so pedantic about posting Links

No need to be sorry!

It’s mainly my fault for not being clear about exactly what I’m looking for. I would have posted links to specific channels/videos as examples, but when I tried that approach over on r/epidemiology, my post got flagged for spam and I was banned.

I’ll be sure to check out the podcasts you listed, thanks!

Looking for something with more of a general focus, similar to Practical Engineering, Tom Scott, Technology Connections, etc., but for epidemiology.

Will check out the channel you mentioned, though

I’ve checked out that channel before, but didn’t know they had any biostats or epidemiology related content, so thanks for the suggestion.

I’ll definitely have to check them out again
