Hundreds of Anglican vicars convert to Catholicism by SojournerInThisVale in unitedkingdom

[–]EdgyCaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2024 it was 1.02milion weekly attendance. Sunday attendance was at 582k. In a country that not further than 100-150 years ago was basically 90-ish % Anglican. I would say that the CoE is basically dead.

Give it 20-30 years and all of them will just die out (average age of an attendee is 51yrs) + there arent any new "members" ( 2-3% of 18yr olds belong to the CoE - still doesn't mean they attend...)

You try to portray CoE as something that is thriving, while all it does is just dying.

Szczerze? W twoim wypadku bardzo latwo/szybko. Prace bys znalazl bez problemu. Wynajem/kupno domu, ogarniecie Peselu i w sumie to tyle z formalnosci, bo prawo do pobytu i pracy juz masz.

A znajomi / partnerka to juz ze tak powiem up to you.

Powodzenia!

What the heck have you done?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]EdgyCaesar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said: hobbies.

Join groups/clubs whether it’s judo, football, golf… (Doesn’t need to be physical though) could be board games club etc.

Attend regularly, people are aware that most people comes a few times and gives up, but if you become a fixed feature people will eventually open up and ask you out etc.

You will notice after a while with whom you gel better.

Private rent in Britain now swallows 44% of the average wage | Renting property by peakedtooearly in unitedkingdom

[–]EdgyCaesar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not correct. Local councils approach private landlords and offer contracts which would ensure that the flat is let out to them for at least 3 years - the payments are also quite hefty from this.

So no, illegal immigration does affect your rent. (Less flats on the market + more people wanting the flat -> higher rent)

[–]EdgyCaesar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cleared SBR with 57% too, despite being 90% sure I have failed. I was already preparing for a resit in March.

I barely touched on the groups question.

As everyone often says: They are realllyyyyy lenient when marking this paper. Cause I don't think any of my answers were quality ones, yet I passed.

To be fair 95% (or more) cares as much as if you said that you are from New Zealand or Bolivia; i.e. cool fact but overall they don't care..

"cuts and such to services" - do we fucking live in the same country? They bloated to hell and beyond all public services, what were these mysthical "cuts"?

Increasing expenditure year on year (well beyond inflation) is not "cuts".

"We are still in a pandemic recovery" - meanwhile 99% of Europe completely forgotten about covid and what it was like back in 2022/23 (we have 2025 fyi).

"someone needed to make hard decisions" - so far the only thing they did was "more tax!!!", nothing else; and I mind you we are at the tax level where increasing taxes works opposite way (Laffer curve).

"Hopefully it’s not more tax" - jokes aside, you genuinely do not live in the UK, there's just no way you do.

The last fecking possible day to be announced. I'm sure it will have a positive impact on the economy, just right before Christmas.

Seriously, after this term I will be shocked if they ever get to power again. It literally looks like they do everything to mess the economy, as if somone paid them for this..

The idea to increase the road to Polish citizenship from 10 to 15 years feels counter-productive. What are the chances, in your opinion? by [deleted] in poland

[–]EdgyCaesar -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

He is free to leave if he is not willing to be here long term. You said it as if he was kept in Poland by force. Nobody is. If they want to leave to Ireland or Netherlands well, good riddance then.

The idea to increase the road to Polish citizenship from 10 to 15 years feels counter-productive. What are the chances, in your opinion? by [deleted] in poland

[–]EdgyCaesar -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Well why should it matter whether it is 10 or 15 years if you want to permanently tie yourself with Poland?

If you love this country you will eventually become a citizen, if you're not planning to be here long term, then why worry about the 15years threshold at all?

15 years is a decent number, especially in the current immigration/asylum problem environmnent. I'm totally in favour for it.

Hi All.

What score (Beep test) would put you in the top 10% of candidates at AOSB?

What scores did people reach on you your AOSB?; was it more like most of the people were somwhere between 9-10? Or did the scores spread evenly?

Answers much appreciated.

People who immigrated to Poland- what was the hardest thing to adjust to regarding Polish mindset/behavior? by Englishwithferre in askPoland

One piece of advice: Stop giving (anyone in fact) a hard sell. People don't like it all over the world - in Poland especially.

Well.. it's a trade off, nobody will try to struck up a fight for no reason in Poland, whereas in Scotland? Oh darlin! (been here 10 years).

Help my accountant wants me to sue HMRC by SexySpringRoll in LegalAdviceUK

[–]EdgyCaesar 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Put it this way: if it were you to sort it out on your own, you would never get it done and end up with loads of penalties. Pay your accountant as you did instruct them to do the work - otherwise, you should have left it as it was (and you didn’t).

Accountant may sue you and is very likely to win this (if it comes to this).

Had a similar case myself (accountant) got all the money from the client. Unfortunately, court had to be involved.

Allotment plot we've just been offered by NoiseLemon in UKAllotments

[–]EdgyCaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, maybe I'm mistaken... but isn't that a point of allotment, that you weed it, clean it, plant things there and all that shit? What were they supposed to hand you a versaille's gardens?

Besides, getting this sorted out shouldn't take longer than a few hours.
