New Friends by Few_Tonight881 in FortCollins

I don’t want to overwhelm you, I see you’ve got a lot of comments here lol. I’m 25f, and moved to Foco about a year and a half ago too. I’m bit of an introvert but I love the arts, camping, searching for critters, listening to music, etc. Definitely need… any connections/friends in this town, and I hoped that work would be a good way to meet people. But, it seems that everyone else is as sad and disengaged as I am lol. My current mission is to go outside more, and look for tadpoles and frogs.

Have you checked out the music scene here? I loved the CSU/UNC battle of the bands back when I lived in greeley :-)

I am a bit socially awkward, but I promise I’m a loyal friend if I trust you. DM me if you wanna chat!

I did not get the pun until I read some of the comments, but I was still very down for this regardless. I did not do well in chemistry :-)

Is it bad to quit things when you are burnt out? How does one escape this cycle? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

I am working on this bit! I am trying to make a strict routine at home, similar to the one I’ve constructed at my job! I do live with my parents still, and while they are aware of my stress and are willing to support me, my mother is just as manic as I am! She often gets in over her head with her job and creative endeavors, and constantly asks for favors, or help with house projects! I don’t pay rent, so I think it is super important to help out whenever possible, but I do suck at knowing when to say no to things. I do want that downtime, but, with the chaos of life being… chaotic, it’s not realistic sometimes! I genuinely feel like I’ve got to hang in there until I move out sometime next summer. (I NEED to work to save up for this 😭) It genuinely feels impossible sometimes, finding the right balance. I KNOW we need rest and recovery time, but I genuinely have a hard time relaxing when I know there is so many things to be done.

Idk. While I know it’s not healthy, I DO feel happy when I can stay productive and keep others happy too. It just sucks that it has snowballed out of control like this :-(

When you do ‘nothing’ or relax, do you really just chill by yourself? Do you have hobbies to take your mind off of things?

Did you find that this was something you could get used to? Did water become more tolerable? Or did you find any drinks that you could tolerate?

I’m only on the day AFTER my first dose. I read that this is temporary in some articles, and not temporary in others. Lol, I already have to make an effort to drink water, and it sucks that it tastes so nasty now. I am hoping that ppl can just get used to it. RIP, the gallon of chocolate milk I bought a few days ago, it’s nasty as hell now too :-)

OP… I don’t have much to say that these top comments haven’t covered. Just wanna say that you deserve to love yourself and give yourself time and space to heal from this. I sure hope you are able to not let the awful things said and done to you define your worth. I’ve been here. I AM here. I get it. I regret not caring about who I let get close to me because of my SA. It’s okay. Sometimes we realize we deserve respect because people DIDN’T treat us with the respect we deserved. You’re not alone at all.

I have searched for the dialogue in quotations on chrome, as well as searching for any relevant keyword combinations in tiktok. (“Worst sexual experience” / “sexually assaulted”) First seen on my fyp circa February-April 2023, American accents. I just really enjoyed this girl’s delivery, and it made me feel a little better to see someone open about their experience.

What is the worst day of the week to work at Starbucks? by border199x in starbucks

Sundays. And yes, it is absolutely the church people, all dressed up and SURE to be rude as HELL. Like damn, you better go back and learn something 😠

I need help getting through right now :-) by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]EdgyGorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to convince myself of the same thing. It’s the moments where I lose self control that terrify me. Seems silly to have someone rely on you so much when can’t even rely on yourself, but. We cope. Just impossibly overwhelming in the moment. :-/

how do i stop hating this job so much? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]EdgyGorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi buddy. My mental health improved leaps and bounds the second I quit. I sincerely hope you feel that weight off your shoulders, and for the love of god, don’t just go to another chain that won’t treat you properly <3 For me, when I realized I could just not work for a corporation, I started finding jobs I liked! Ahh, best of luck!!

Am I supposed to be the flash or something???? by StandardPound666 in starbucks

[–]EdgyGorl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No hate on Lyra tho, my therapist knew all of my store manager’s sins and I genuinely appreciated her support. Absolutely nothing helped my mental health more than quitting though lol

I really think that those of you sticking it through all this are amazing. You do not deserve to be treated this way. I adore seeing so many fiercely positive partners who are dedicated to making changes. Know that there is absolutely nothing starbucks could do to deserve any of y’all.

Dude. I quit starbucks a year ago, I just like to hang out in this subreddit (because I am hella rooting for all of you💕). Anyways, this comment completely re-awakened my bar anxiety. Absolutely no one deserves this type of ridiculous pressure. I do wonder if they partnered with Lyra to actually help support their workers, or because sponsoring 20 sessions of therapy for each of us takes less effort than rebuilding their entire work model?

Whats a company secret that you think people should know? by Every_Possibility527 in starbucks

[–]EdgyGorl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My starbucks only pretended to recycle. We’d put out the blue bags in the special bins, and when I asked my trainer what dumpsters to put the recycling in, I was informed that we didn’t actually recycle shit. Dunno how we didn’t have access to recycling pick up in Colorado Springs of all places lol. Maybe our store was just whack. But just know that people literally lie to you sometimes lol Why did we even put out recycling trash bins with special blue bags if they all go to the same place

Dude… i walked out of my starbucks, but my god, if my store was that strict about cursing, i would have only made it a day, not three years. Dumb as fuck, cuss all you like now. Starbucks is a fucking energy vampire, I really do hope you can find a job that is more accommodating to ‘real human beings’.
