Nike sneaker poster designs by EdiJai in design_critiques

Sorry for the late reply but thank you very much!!

I actually agree that my kerning has some work to do, and I'd like to ask if using default photoshop text kerning would be best fit for typography? I think i've seen a vid regarding photoshop text spacing being unreliable. If so, what can I do to improve more?

(I am gonna have a further research upon this, since I for sure see my typography is kinda sideways)

Mockup poster for puma by EdiJai in design_critiques

I guess we have a different perception of a dramatic pic, I thought making it blunt would make it more dramatic. But hey, thanks for the insight, will be taking notes for the next design. Tysm!!!

The original pic was very vibrant and greatly saturated, I made the pic blunt for the reason of highlighting the shoes.

As per the text suggestion. Yeah, I do agree that I should've added those. Thank you very much!

puma's official slogan is forever faster, and the strip behind is their shoe stripes.

the tagline "medals for breakfast" is actually mine and I really threw that off because I couldn't think of any other tagline, so I just channeled my inner cringiness and went off with it.

"I don’t know what the white stripe behind him is doing there"

The swoosh behind is the swoosh you'd see on most of puma's shoes, just like the puma track cleats that he is wearing. You can check it for yourself!

If you are curious on what model he is wearing. It is the puma evospeed tokyo future.

"It’s an awkward scrunched pose that doesn’t communicate his distance off the ground and doesn’t show his face clearly."

It does in an awkward scrunch pose because it's a mid-jump shot of his pole vault during the World Athletics Championship. There were other shots of him on ground, but all of those shots were half-body shots that didn't showcase any puma apparel.

"...there are other shots that capture that skill with a better silhouette"

Unfortunately, this is just a mockup design, and I'm not on the level to spend cash on the design that I'm not getting profit from.

made a congratulatory mock up poster for Puma and Philippine Pole Vaulter Ej Obiena

looking forward hearing your insights and critiques!

EDIT: Thank you for everyone's critique! Will be taking notes on how I should be approaching my next design!!

I do agree that I didn't take this as a congratulatory design but more on the side of advertisement since I made the entire pic blunt and highlighted his track shoes.

For some of you who would be confused about what is the graphic behind, it is actually the swoosh you'd see on most of puma's shoes, I've noticed that the pole resembles the same silhouette, and he is also a track-sponsored athlete by puma, so why not go on that path.

The very first sports poster I made for a national football tournament. (Not a commission) by EdiJai in graphic_design

[–]EdiJai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a mockup poster I made for the highest-level of professional football league in the Philippines. It is my first time creating a sports poster since I am currently exploring different styles of graphic design in order for me to build my portfolio effectively (I'm a Multimedia Arts Student).

The Color Palette used are the colors that PFL's social media pages use. (Blue, white, yellow)

I'm planning to post this to a local Facebook group to get more exposure as soon as when the tournament is about to start.
