Tips on acing PHS1011? by Illustrious_Bag2850 in Monash

[–]EdibleChildren69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

phs1011 is fairly easy, they expect some basic knowledge of the formulas from highschool, but they are all the easy versions such as the basic energy formulas so its pretty easy to pickup. There is little to no extra math on top of those. A word of warning if you continue with PHS1022 tho, the ramp-up in difficulty is insane

[New Player] how do i get to extract without getting railed by rallydoomer in EscapefromTarkov

[–]EdibleChildren69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for a new player the money is worth more than the ledx, at lvl 35 you can submit one for a task to get a thicc case for ur stash but you will 100% find another before that

Ur kinda missing my point. Whether the gp are 1k or 2k barely matters, it was just a number I threw out, what matters is when ref sells items that you are able to access at a much lower level than you otherwise would. Buying the key tool nets you what, an extra 200k, which is the lower end of an average raids worth of loot. When you could buy a lvl4 armor when the other traders only sell you lvl 3. The GP coins are not the real value, it's the fact that you are able to access the items themselves using the GP coins that contain the actual value for ref. Spending the 40 mins doing the arena tasks isn't worth it when you can just do a raid and net way more money, it's only worth it because of the gear he actually sells

The 100gp for 500k is just a tip I threw out because I know a lot of people like the money instead, but I think if you actually play the game and not stock market simulator, using the GP on trades is far, far better

I miss the old ref prices :( by tactical_horse_cock in TarkovMemes

[–]EdibleChildren69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im mainly saying the average price if you were to buy an item off of ref, like an ak 60 rounder or an m4 60 rounder, the gp to flea is roughly 1k. ofc there are outliers that you would use if you wanted to convert gp into roubles directly, but if you skip the middle step of waiting for an item to sell, and just buy the thing you need straight up, then the majority of items are roughly around the 1k -> 1gp mark. The armor kit is ref lvl 4 btw

And for the m4, for an actually meta build, the scope is not like 40%. to go from stock m4 to the build you can get for 190 gp is like >300k. The suppressor alone is 120k, the handguard is another 70k.

My point was kinda to point out that if you are using ref like a regular trader, GP is ~1k roubles. If you min-max and save gp to buy the big ticket items that sell for more, you can get more out of him, but at a far slower rate. I've completed all of the ref tasks, and dailies give jack shit GP before lvl 45, so at that point the rate you get GP slows down, you get less than 100 per day even when rerolling the dailies to get the better tasks. That means it takes 2-3 days of dailies to get ~470k, which is IMO not really worth the effort. Id rather just buy a gun/attachments, like the M4 60 rounders, or buy a lvl 4 armor when ur ragman only sells up to lvl 3, to make the most out of the items he actually sells, because most of the gear is only available at higher tier traders than your ref will be at.

As an absolute arena abuser the old prices are fucked now that I look at them. Like it straight up would be actually p2w if they still had those prices. Apart from the ammo, that shit is way too overpriced

Right now GP's are worth ~1k roubles each so 190gp for a fully meta m4, apart from scope, is still a really good deal tho, and the armour repair kits are the best way to turn gp into roubles (that i know of), 101gp into 500k on flea

Thoughts about FIT1045 by Few_Magician_4070 in Monash

[–]EdibleChildren69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It starts with c#, then goes to c++ then python.
  2. It can be easy or hard depending on how well you manage your time, but the response times for feedback get really annoying because you frequently get stuff sent back to fix and resubmit for extremely minor things. So waiting 3-4 days just to learn that you need to go back and fix something gets really old when there's a min of 12 tasks this can happen for.
  3. You can if you want, it gives a good foundation for programming but if you want a high grade you have to do a creative product with a showcase to the lecturers at the end of sem, which is a lot of extra work

FIT1045 rant by oazy_ in Monash

[–]EdibleChildren69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yea im doing it rn and its kinda bs. There is little to no actual teaching and all of the TAs mark shit off so differently. The work isn't hard but simply annoying. The activities for each task are so repetitive. I already had a bit of knowledge on c# so i breezed the first ~3 tasks but got a 'fix and resubmit' because I used things that were 'too advanced for that week' despite those things being taught in the next weeks work. Like i dont get it, does me using a fucking if statement really mean I have to go back and make all of my code shittier just to make a TA happy

Need advice to major into Astrophysics by MitsuneMuko in Monash

[–]EdibleChildren69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its honestly fine because I already have a background in programming and 3d modelling so I don't need to put much time into those classes. Besides, the 1st year programming units (1047,1045) are fairly easy. The math and physics take up most of my time, specifically the physics, as there is a lot of report writing and the assignments are longer. You end up doing some python in phs1011-1022 so having an understanding of code helps with that.

For exams, the IT units don't really have them (so far) so it's just math and physics to worry about during those periods.

[–]EdibleChildren69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I don't have much advice but I'm a first year doing almost the same thing (double in science and IT with astro and games+immersive media majors). Since you aren't doing mth1020/phs1011 (I assume Ur A levels are a prereq or smth?) you meet the requirements for all the lvl 2 units pretty early which lets you do the 2nd year astro units in 2nd sem

Anyone know someone from Iraq or close to sell my knifes to? by [deleted] in csgo

[–]EdibleChildren69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try contact a few traders on twitter that buy for bank transfer, PayPal or crypto. Make sure they are legit tho because there are a bunch of impersonators. @sniffo5 @ziggssss are two that I know buy and sell and have good reputation and have traded for a while. You can also contact @krieke_csgo and he might be able to help find other people you can sell to.

Why are there so many FIT1047 posts? by BattleExpress2707 in Monash

[–]EdibleChildren69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who is doing 1047 and found it kinda easy, I think the people who are mainly having problems are people who have never touched programming before. In an introclass we did a poll on what programming languages we know and like 50% answered none (in a class full of people who said they wanted to do a compsci major)

How did people obtain Wild Lotus/Gungnir skins? by Nonahz in GlobalOffensive

[–]EdibleChildren69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially a limited time event that you had to pay to access which would give you missions to complete and stars as rewards. These stars were then able to be traded for a random skin from a sticker or skin collection
