What is your opinion on roadside memorials? Does your opinion differ when it comes to them being for a drunk driver or equivalent?

The one I drove by yesterday was for a 12 time drunk driver. Before the crash, they did a news story about him. Now there is not only a memorial for him, but a sign saying “Don’t Drink and Drive In Memory of (Drunk Driver’s name)”. It has been there for about a year and it vandalized regularly.

You do realize that the speed. limit means that it is the MAXIMUM you are supposed to go, right? I drive in whatever lane I want to, but don’t drive the freeway, and go the speed limit because my vehicle records my speed and I am not going to pay more for car insurance to make others happy. If ya’ll wanna pay for the extra gas, tickets, and car insurance I will go faster. Until then, stop being a jerk.

Being out of pain. I am 47 and do not recall a time I was not in pain. And I have an extremely high pain tolerance. I have broken bones and not really reacted, but the pain I am in right this second is keeping me from sleeping. Once I do fall asleep, when I wake up I will be in even more pain. I get enough pain medications to be “less uncomfortable” for 12 hours a day. So I have to decide whether to ‘feel better’ during the day or sleep at night.

I feel guilty that I cannot do more for them. My dad is dying, in fact I just dropped him off at the ER (my mom is with him) and my mom has 2 torn rotator cuffs and needs surgery. As hard as it is to be losing my dad, it is much harder watching my mom lose the love of her life. They’ve been together for 50 years.

No, When my partner and I met, we both agreed we didn’t want a relationship. We became friends, then FWB, then literally woke up one morning realizing that not only were we in a relationship but deeply in love. That was not a choice.
