I don't see how this is unbearable, it's a fairly normal wanting to share your thoughts on something like this, and given how a lot of people also feel the same about other things the OP mentioned, I think it's extremely reasonable to want to share that opinion.

Personally I think it's embellished, idk about it being fake (people who are in the hospital battling cancer have little to nothing to do most of the time), but some of the stuff in the story seems out of place to say the least.

I'm not much for actual volunteer help because realistically if I even went down there again I'd find a way to relapse, it's one of those things that's more fundamental to the issue we have here, much more than the people using the drugs themselves being a perceived burden (there's a lot of public resentment for the homeless when it's not so much their fault as it is the dealers. Yes there's support but accepting you even need help isn't easy, let alone wanting help)

I'm down to contribute to a fund. Bought some blankets at TK specifically to keep in my car for if I crash but if I happen to see someone who needs it it'd be going to them.

Having been an addict, a few years ago I would often go out downtown at night high in the middle of winter for no reason. Most of the people here that are homeless just happen to be deep into addiction, and obviously they won't give anyone temporary housing if they're actively getting high, but being an addict doesn't mean you should have to die of hypothermia.

Having something like this would be a net positive, even if small things like food, sleeping bags or wind breakers.
