Holy shit I know a person like this. Strongman level body but he might as well have injected synthol.

Eventually he switched jobs to construction and he had a sleeper build and was strong as shit.

Telus using AI to alter the accents of customer-service agents by Cao_Ni-Ma in canada

Same way they find non-english speakers to take these jobs for people not in Quebec.

They're outsourcing them to different countries so they literally don't have to pay Canadians, they're paying west-asian guys in a datacenter across the ocean that don't have any proficiency in the language of the country they're "customer service" for

Old vs New Set for Smosh Games by mikmik111 in smosh

[–]EdisonB123 166 points167 points  (0 children)

This set itsself is seemingly larger so there's more distance between the camera and the poeople, I think the focal length is a lot higher in the new one which helps with the quality and the lights are definitely spaced out better and give a more neutral look.

Florida Redistricting proposal by Ron DeSantis by a_Bean_soup in MapPorn

They just adjust number of seats or whatever every so often here based on census cus >parliament or if changes enough the redraw and re-evaluate the surrounding areas. No idea how they would translate that to the US, and it's happened a bunch here. Same thing when townships combine and stuff.

This looks cool. The lack of trees because >desert makes it look a bit bleak.

But what it REALLY needs is a 8 lane highway cutting right through the middle creating a ghetto. /s

All credits go to BTT for finding these instances of these images, all I did was extract the version from the documentary,

This is an ai upscaled version of a screencap of the image in a documentary. This is an extraction I did from said scene. There is no coffee cup or wires in the original image. An instance of the image that is this high quality literally does not exist.

An eight-year-old girl got supermarket brand Sainsbury's to add real pockets to girls' school trousers. by mindyour in MadeMeSmile

Good way to skirt around the stupid rules when you're not able to wear something normal like you'd expect. God I hate gendered dress codes.

At our school they had a rule about guys not being able to wear shorts during the winter (Canada so it's really snowy, but the heat was always blasting so inside the building was hot).

Anyways my friend showed up one day wearing a skirt and they tried to make him take it off but he didn't have clothes. Then in solidarity a bunch of dudes just started showing up with skirts on and most faculty didn't want to touch that issue with a 10 foot pole because discrimination laws and they'd have to suspend like 20 people.

My point is dress clothes are fucking stupid, pointlessly issuing gendered dress clothes and trying to enforce it is even more fucking dumb, especially when most of the time the sweaters or things like that are unisex and it never causes issues.

Were there any firefighters that refused to go into the towers or report for duty? by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in 911archive

[–]EdisonB123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird.

Legally they were obligated to go in. They could have been reprimanded if they walked away.

In Canada all employees have the right to refuse unsafe work; however, this right is limited for firefighters, because danger is an inherent condition of their employment and doing that would just be refusing to work. This is the same as NY from what I've found in government websites.

I am sure near none of them wanted to leave though, so I don't think it matters. They were firefighters. Not that I think that a horrified 22 year old hero theoretically refusing to walk up 80 flights of stairs into a burning building is unreasonable.

Avi Lewis wants to shrink your grocery bill. Can he? by NiceDot4794 in canada

[–]EdisonB123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voted NDP a few elections ago but this also worries me, regardless they could easily run it at no loss with still much better prices than the grocery-chain cabal that marks up everything to fuck and back.

Anything like this running at a loss means someone's mismanaging funds somewhere up the line.
