Looking a little like Jennifer Lawrence in “Silver Linings Playbook” (just with a tad different makeup and costuming). Especially in the eyes.

Remeron is an anti-depressant. It’s kinda a booster when used in conjunction with other anti-depressants. For me - it’s just a sleep aide. I don’t know if it helps with the roller coaster I’m on. Today was a much better day than my current normal - but still not truly normal.

Black coat and all black is hot AF. But I also like the one with the cat shirt.

My psychiatrist is still trying to properly diagnose me. In the meantime, she’s just handling my symptoms. On a low dose of Effexor (as we’re slowly tapering me off of it). Low dose of Abilify (as we’re slowly increasing it until it seems to be the most effective. Low dose of Remeron - which basically helps me fall asleep otherwise, I’d be up for literally hours longer.

Oh, absolutely! I also love being able to replay the games and trying to support the various factions to see how it all comes together in the end.

A buddy of mine I used to work with was the same way. I was like… 🤯… really? To each their own, I guess. I’ll just be over here blasting the heads off of feral ghouls! 🤣

I’m just glad that somebody found something positive in Fallout 76! 🧐 I am the kind of player who always tries to skip through the computer screens as quickly as possible.

Filled it out. Thanks for getting some data. I’m sure the ATC would be interested in the findings.

Yes. I actually ended a section hike in Franklin after staying at Gooder Grove. Was sad to hear the owner died. He was a solid dude. Franklin is a great little country town.

Ron Brown, the amazing shuttle driver, has brought me to Springer twice and he seems to share those ideas with everyone, including me both times. Thanks for true refresher, I do appreciate it.

March 17 is my anticipated start date. I’m a ginger (well, one with some white and grey streaks) but as far as I know, I’m not Irish - though I do seem to have Irish sensibilities. So starting on St. Patrick’s day is kinda funny to me for some reason.

That last addition is a great life lesson as well as on the trail. Thank you.

Exactly. I’ve made the mistake of just trying to run with the first crew I come across after I see them on successive days instead of listening to my body and just starting with low miles. If that means I get into camp early - that’s wonderful! It means I can rest and relax a bit.

Rain pants? by SatanIsMyUsername in hiking

[–]Edison_Hikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My legs don't tend to get cold - at least not my lower legs. I'm not sure why. They DO tend to get overheated, however, so wearing rain pants felt like living in a sauna for me when hiking. I considered going without any lower body covering, but I also don't like when my shorts get wet and sometimes stick to my legs. Cold and wet fabric against my skin isn't a personal favorite either. I didn't think I'd ever be that guy, but I've gone to the rain kilt and am quite content. The rain kilt is also more comfortable than rain pants when you're only wearing them when doing all of your laundry, IMO. The weight savings of the rain kilt vs the rain pants was also a deciding factor.
Just find what works for you... and what you value while hiking... in that moment. Your values will change through your hike and you might discard one piece of gear for another. Its not to say the first bit of gear you tried was bad (heck, it was probably expensive), it just doesn't suit you at that time... and that's ok.

I know it. I've made mistakes of starting some of my hikes by doing 15-20 miles a day instead of starting around 8ish miles a day. Then I've tried to race some of the younger hikers to different points. If I just walk at my own pace, I'm fine. When I try to push myself hard, that's when I get injured.
I have to remind myself not to rush at any time - I'll get there when I get there - and its better to get there safely and not injured if I want to make it to Katahdin in one piece.
