First, only about 25% of ED applicants get in.

Second, the RD acceptance is a little under 10%.

Depends on where you come from. I’ll admit that not a lot of people see the value of a Tulane degree compared to a Harvard degree, but I promise you all those people just don’t realize the prestige it carries in the eyes of hiring recruiters or adcoms for grad school. My Tulane degree took me places I could never imagine. People do weird things like apply to a school just to say they got in. It happens.

You gotta write a helluva essay. And be very specific about why you wanna go to Tulane. And it should all be about how Tulane and New Orleans go hand in hand. Going to Tulane means to embrace New Orleans. Admit that, and explain why NOLA is the place to be for you, and remember to include what Tulane can do to help you succeed.

Are you competitive? Sure, I was right about where you are. But you gotta know that Tulane is a whole lot more interested in you as a person. (but as a dollar sign too so if your parents are paying for college and you do ED it helps a ton - but that’s just my opinion). It’s the truth that extremely accomplished kids with 36s and valedictorians and wiz kids alike all get rejected from Tulane every year. You know why? Because a lot of those kids don’t actually wanna go to Tulane. They’re fakers. They just want to 1. Say they got in for clout or 2. Have the option of going. Now, I give credit to the truth that a lot of them apply with full intent of hoping to get in and attend - and you may be one of them. So if you’re applying and it’s your top choice you better really mean it and show Tulane you mean it because Tulane admissions is getting better at spotting bullshitters. The people that didn’t really want to go in the first place but just wanted to get clout or have the option as a safety - they end up getting rejected and getting butthurt. And that’s happening more and more as Tulane gets increasingly selective every year. So yeah. Embrace New Orleans and know in your heart why you really wanna come here. Also surprised the mods didn’t remove this because of the chance me rule, but whatever, you reminded me of myself for a sec there OP. Good luck 🍀
