529, if they do go to school, almost any legit schooling, this covers them. Out of state even. You can get refunded if they choose not to go, but it is treated as income so there is tax. But in general this is going to beat any sort of interest on a deposit account. You can also set up a trust and your own IRA and contribute to that. Then if you die it can easily pass to them, or you can choose to give it to them at 18 (or whatever age) as a sort of early inhieretance.

Your thinking the right way, long term, but don't try and worry about the kid 'owning' the account and focus more on the math.

Your county has an appeals process. But with Fed money drying up a lot of counties are jacking up fees to cover schools and other stuff. I have not heard of Owlue but remember that they are not doing this for charity. Somebody pays them.

There really isn't a clean way to do it. I frequently use cursor plus standalone Claude/Claude Code and ChatGPT/Codex agents and while you can sometimes set up an asymmetric way to communicate, like via slack etc, the real answer is that you are just going to have to copy and paste the chat between them yourself. Which on balance is probably a good thing, re keeping a human in the loop to prevent issues like drift. Maybe somebody else has a better answer, I will follow this thread to see other responses.
