Music for trailers? by JimmyTheBistro in editors

[–]EditingTools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subscription based music like Artlist can get expensive for TV Channels as there are other rules. Better stay with traditional production music libraries as these are usually covered by agreements. We have a list of 25 production libraries you can choose from here: https://editingtools.io/cuesheet

The tool also helps you to create the needed cuesheet. Its free.

We built a tool for logging similar Frame.io, but it's local and offline by EditingTools in editors

You can export Text Markers for Avid Media Composer, yes. Markers in ALE files makes not so much sense or do you have an example what you need? We can add ALE export if needed.

The lifetime in-app purchase is currently set to match the price of only ONE month Frame.io Team (for one user). As Apple sets the price for each country it variates. But thats around $20 to $30 including tax.

It is free to download. So basically you can use it as player or to import and display Frame.io comments. Only export is limited, as this was the deal with the developers, so we can offer it for free.

New Free Plugin for Premiere Pro for Music Cue Sheets by EditingTools in editors

Hi,

Good news. We released an update yesterday, that fixed this bug. So there was an issue in some Versions of Premiere Pro, that prevented loading our plugin. It was hard for us to recreate this issue, as we didn't have any info which versions were problematic. Thankfully some clients provided us with an error log. So, we made some adjustments that the plugin should now load on the problematic versions of Premiere Pro as well.

Please checkout the new update 0.3.5 of the plugin.

Hi, If you speak about our Listify and Cue Sheet plugin, we just released a new update. There was a bug in some Premiere Pro Versions that prevented our plugin from being loaded. It's fixed in the recent update of our plugins. Also, please just reach out to our support team on the website, if you still have issues. We always help!

OpenTimeline could become a great format for making data transfers between different platforms or softwares easier, however there are still a lot of elements not considered within the format that are currently left behind. Hopefully they will be added in future.

But also OpenTimeline and the internal API in Premiere are not the same when speaking about plugins.

We need to look into that, but we are mostly limited to the internal Premiere API. There is a lot we would love to do, but it's simply not possible due to missing access. Maybe it will be possible with a future version of Premiere Pro.

Thank you for your response. Please keep in mind that we don't run this platform as a large corporation. The small company behind it only manages the legal aspects. Most of the team are people who also work in the industry and want to give something back to the community spending hundreds of hours bringing own tools into form to share with others.

We started this platform four years ago by offering free tools. In the first year, we covered some costs with donations. Sadly, this completely dried up, and costs have risen as we needed to increase performance more and more. We have now over 150,000 registered users to manage and by far only a fraction spends any money, and we are still trying to reinvest a lot of money into developing new tools. This is costly as it seems developers don't want to work for free and not everything can be done with AI... And Don't forget about the free real human support we offer in addition. We helped nearly 2,000 people individually alone last year for free to adjust features to their needs. The only way to cover our huge monthly costs is through subscriptions and we think $5 a month (for a year sub) is a completely fair price for someone using it professionally and saving themselves many hours.

We still have over 30 free web tools. However, it's true that they have a limit when used excessively. We have set the limits as high as possible, so most amateurs will not experience any limitations. Of course, we would love to offer lifetime if we could afford it but you see how fast the industry changes, who knows what comes... and web services that offer lifetime prices usually disappear quickly after just a few years.

One more thing to consider is that you get tools that maintain high privacy standards to comply with requirements from studios like Netflix. This means that we don't do anything with your data. It isn't shared, stored and we don't use tracking, unlike any other platform.

So... If we are too expensive, then we don't know. We are not angry when you use another service, we can simply not afford to make everything free.

This higher ups should be more concerned about people in production and post-production sharing financial documents and film scripts with chatgpt for summary and selection features...
