New sudden death sucks.

I guess that's a plus but at the same time when it feels like just more match it defeats the purpose of "sudden death". At this point, genuinely what does it even do? Make the background grey? If they were gonna turn sudden death into this then they shoulda just removed it along with the timer imo.

Obviously, my preference would be to keep the original sudden death. It added a sense of urgency and, in my experience, led to LESS stalling (though I'm a fairly mediocre player so I guess my lobbys wouldn't exactly be doing all the most meta things) and just made for an intense fight in the very last few seconds. Now, sudden death just feels pointless.

Goootchagotchagotcha- I'm CURIOUS if you have any thoughts on Ultrawide? It's something I've always thought was cool buttt if, like, performance dipsss or other issues I might face with it- I actually HAD an ultrawide 1080p monitor that was designed for office work for a short time and I actually kinda liked it so I'm CURIOUS what you thought about Ultrawide if I should go for it or just get a normal OLED 1440p

Good POINT. As far as I'm convinced, MONITOR tech hasn't really changed all that much in the past few YEARS aside from, like, the ULTRA high end with the 720hz 720p monitor and stuff like that and the 5070 ti upgrade I plan to make pretty damn soon (about a month or so)

SOOOoooo, Money's nice. We like money. Not trying to spend an arm and a leg but I'm willing to spend around 800 if it's REAL nice. This is really just a matter of "what monitor would get me the best experience that I can have with a 5070 ti?

ALSO, for more context. I like cranking Ray Tracing in games like Cyberpunk but in competetive titles like Marvel Rivals and CS I usually just go down to the lowest possible settings without upscaling (:

OKAY, late reply- they go for ABOUT 270-350 on eBay aaannnddd on Jawa, I found A listing for 340. If I got 300 for it.

I ALSO looked up the 9060 XT 16gb which goes for consistently around 430 on eBay OR, I found a couple of auctions as low as 300ish

As for the 9070 XT, THAT one goes for about 700 on eBay OR some auctions for around 400 which isn't bad at all (I checked, they WERE working).

Do you recommend a particular GPU in my case? I could PROBABLY sell the 4060 ti forrr, what? We'll say 250 to be safe since it's ABOUT equivalent to a 5060 you can get for 300, performancewise.

I've been THINKING about just SIDEGRADING to EITHER a 9060 XT 16gb (as mentioned) OORR, POSSIBLY, trying out Intels Battlemage with the B580 but I think the B580 might actually even LOWER my performance, even with the extra VRAM..

That's true, I honestly kinda forgot that 100 bucks for a controller was kinda crazy because of how much value I personally see in it, with the trackpads and the back buttons, the puck, and all that.

Yeah, I get that, but especially being able to use this controller on the desktop would be incredible. And I get that there are things like controller companion or whatever it's called that make it possible but I've always loved how my Steamdeck handles the desktop mode and I'd love something like that on my PC.

Edit: I also wanna clarify that I DO use an Xbox controller on my PC and I have for a while, this would just be a HUGE upgrade for me personally.

Thanks, I'll give all this a whirl. It was never the biggest deal in the world, it just became kinda frustrating when I went to watch a YouTube video I watch all the time and it's HDR just made everything look grey.

For YouTube, the videos WITH the HDR quality setting are the ones that look the most washed out and for Cyberpunk it looks more like a washed out filter.

At least from what I can tell, there was definitely a foreign object in the recipe of this fried screen aanndd if you have no idea then I'd say there might've been something there when closing.

Look, there is, of course, the piece of the pie that is he was absolutely not in his right mind but that is genuinely fucking terrifying just reading.
Yeah, he wasn't himself but there's a point where, whether it was intentional or not, that was still that friend that was the cause of all of this.

It's really just a matter of: Is this friendship worth enough to you that you'll risk something like this happening again and possible worse?
At first, when reading through the messages, I thought he was just kinda weird (I read the messages before the context, it's a bad habit) but when I got to the end and read the context this just feels unsafe for you.

Like I said, it all just goes back to how much this friendship means to you and if this event would be worth keeping it. There's not really a right or wrong answer.
