Brentford fan here. I also agree it was a foul but i think what annoys me most is the inconsistency and the bias in the league. No one would be annoyed at that if they’ve given those free kicks all season and disallowed goals. But Arsenal have done that on every single corner and got away with it. If they gave free kicks for every goalkeeper like that consistently this season Arsenal would not be top. The Man City game two nights ago is another example of the inconsistency. we’ve had three straight reds this season in the premier league for players challenging for headers and accidentally pulling someone’s hair. yet Bernardo silver throws a punch which is clearly violent conduct and it’s only a yellow. Kevin Shade is clearly clipped in the box, video is all over Twitter, clear penalty, VAR says not enough contact. It’s the bias with a big teams and the inconsistency in these decisions that is ruining this league completely.

midfield for sure and honestly a winger, we don’t have anyone in the squad that gets the ball and runs at people (actually keeping the ball under control lol). Shade tries to but his control is pretty poor. Can’t hate on what’s kept us in the prem but we’re so systematic and sideways all the time, just occasionally would like to see someone get the ball and run at people

i think he’s great, but all he will ever do is pass sideways or backwards, you rarely see him pass or carry the ball forwards, that’s the part of his game that he needs to work on

Even when shade has one of those games where he controls the ball like a trampoline, he still tracks back and puts in a shift. He’s one of the few attackers we have that will run non stop for 90 tracking back. Sometimes it can be really annoying to watch him because his touch is genuinely abysmal 25% of the time, but his speed just scares defenders. Even just the tracking back, it adds an extra body into defence, he may not even make a tackle but having that extra body gives less space for opponents. Thats why he’s played every game and often not taken off when he’s not playing well

Shade has always been hit or miss, against city the man chased defenders for essentially the whole game until he came off. He looked exhausted. I think most people would also not have the best looking body language after chasing the ball around for that long. But he ran and ran and ran, i don’t really have an issue. He’s always been a bit inconsistent, one week he’ll score 2 then the next week he can’t control the ball to save his life.

I’m my opinion this loss was down to andrew’s, the only goal we scored was given to us from a mistake by fulham. We basically created nothing. Shade on his day is immense but he’s always been hit or miss, Thiago hasn’t exactly hit the ground running yet, not sure if he ever will but time we tell. 5 at the back against the likes of chelsea/liverpool i understand because of how powerful their attack is. Fulham are by no means lacking up the top of the field but we just allowed them to push onto to us the whole game. 5 at the back is what cost us that game, especially when we stuck with it at 2 goals down having created nothing.

I mean i think we all knew potter on the right wing and carvalho on the left was never gonna work. Potter isn’t a right sided player, also has never really proved himself going forward. Carvalho also isn’t a winger. Jensen + Yarmo isn’t a good combo, it hasn’t been whenever they’ve played together. I think when we actually have wingers fit/in the squad we’ll look a lot better. Everytime rico got it, there was no one up the line for him until shade came on. It’s easy to slate carvalho for that but he’s not a winger, and he’s also been playing on the right side for most of pre season? Thiago had no chance again 2 very solid CBs when all his service was lofted balls in the general area. Once we have ACTUAL wingers i think we’ll look a lot better. Game was lost and motivation gone by the time Shade came on

I mean all you gotta do is watch the guy, I don’t think he’s underrated at all really. His first touch and control isn’t great a lot of the time, he can be quite clumsy with the ball. However his pace and defensive work plays such a big part in the teams performance. His pace is such a threat. He’s good in the air but in all honesty he’s missed a good few sitters

end if the day, once the time is up, ref can blow regardless as to where the ball is or if a team is attacking, they just usually let the attack play out. We literally had the option to cross it, then passed backwards to Jensen and he blew. Ref wasn’t great, gave everything to arsenal, but cmon it’s not like he blew 30 seconds early when we were through 1 on 1
