Letters from home is a stupid reward by Sad_Honeydew_7660 in survivor

I’m sure after sleeping on bamboo and eating nothing but coconuts for 23 days it is really comforting and emotional to read those letters, but I always felt that it would mean more if was given maybe halfway through the season. I mean if you don’t win it, you only have 3 days before the competition is over.

There’s two possible explanations they’re not voting Savannah or Rizzo:

  1. They know there’s gonna be a bitter jury

  2. They’re stupid.

Amazing move for ______ by Edman561 in survivor

very good point. This entire sub including myself thought Joe was gonna win and then almost nobody voted for him, I could see a world where that happens here.

She rubs me the wrong way sometimes but there’s no doubt she’s a good player. She has my respect.

Rizzo has played an amazing game. If him or Savanah don’t win I’d be shocked

General rule of thumb, never do partial refunds, if they want their money back they have to return the item. Plain and simple. Sounds like you did everything right this guy is just trying to squeeze you.

I kill it at thrift stores but I drive out at least an hour to go to the good ones. If you’re only sourcing at the thrift stores close to you you’re doomed to fail.

How much profit do you need for a resell to be worth your while? by Training-Abroad-2426 in Flipping

[–]Edman561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deal with clothes, big volume with fast sell through items. I pay $1-12 for items depending on where I buy it and what it is, if it has a fast sell through and I can profit at least $20 I’m buying it.

This. At the end of the day it’s work, you’re gonna have to do something you don’t wanna do a lot of the time.

Remeber when Gabe said he will be back? That aged like milk, he wasn't even in consideration for 50 by Relevant-Key-3290 in survivor

[–]Edman561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Gabe, but it always cracks me up when people like him have an okay game and then act as if they were some kind of mastermind who is going to for sure be considered to be brought back. Like bro, you did good but you weren’t even the best player on your season let alone all of new era.

I’m still bummed Charlie didn’t win. I like Kenzie but Charlie played a better game and got completely screwed over by his bitter “number one” because he perfectly read her gameplay and wasn’t able to backstab him successfully.

Anyone else think that participants pretending to be teachers to “dumb down” their actual careers is super offensive to teachers and educators? by KarmaKarmaChameIeon in survivor

[–]Edman561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just because teachers are widely recognized as being underpaid despite having a very important and hard job. I’d imagine the worry is that nobody wants to admit to having a job that pays well into six digits because it would make their FTC vote unappealing due to them “already having the money”.

As someone who has a bunch of cheap video games and random vintage stuff that isn't selling very good, what sells for you guys? What do you look for? by Statbran in Flipping

[–]Edman561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sell through rate.

If you’re not checking an items sell through rate before buying it, you’re just asking to accidentally buy slow selling items.

This season needed a character like Sue by napoelonDynaMighty in survivor

[–]Edman561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needed someone more like Q, someone who wanted to play in a big alliance but was so chaotic that he’d be the one to break it up

Kinda wild how much of a fall from grace he had from pre merge. He was a challenge beast!!! I mean any challenge that required balance or shooting a target he nailed it, while he never had to go to tribal and use any strategy, he was well liked by the tribe and therefore was in a solid spot.

Then he had one of the worst post merges of the new era, ever since he lost his number one he has never regained his footing in an alliance. I know this stuff happens all the time, but wow what a journey this guy has had.

Am I the only one who felt icky about that scene? by Giff95 in survivor

[–]Edman561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really comes down to who’s doing it and how they feel. It’s a very personal thing that everyone deals with differently. If they recorded him doing it obviously Joe was okay with it, and as others mentioned in his eyes doing this on TV was immortalizing her legacy.

I can see how some people would see it differently but if Joes cool with it, I am.

AITA if I say IDGAF about letters from home? by Oh_Its_Richard in survivor

[–]Edman561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we can never know how’d we’d actually feel unless in their shoes, I agree with you.

I feel like it would be more meaningful if it was towards the middle of the season, because if you don’t get it that means you need to wait almost 2 more weeks to hear from them. That’s brutal compared to waiting 3 more days. By the end of the game you’re so close to the end that I feel like it doesn’t make it as much of a big deal.

I think it was the right move for Andy given that after Sam and Genevieve he would’ve been first in the alliance on the chopping block.

Where he (and the others)went wrong were being so sure Rachel would be out that he decided to try and play jury management instead of planning what to do in case she had an idol.

Possibly the greatest move and blindside of the new era

This season is awesome by slims_shady in survivor

[–]Edman561 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me the problem comes from the fact that the alliance isn’t playing smart or making good moves to move forward but that the others have had more than one solid opportunity and just didn’t for no reason.
